Intel’s Long-Awaited Arc A580 GPU Remains Elusive, Leaving Gamers in Limbo

  • The A580 GPU boasts an impressive 24 Xe-Cores.
  • The A580 may have been based on the ACM-G10 GPU, which offers up to 32 Xe-Cores.
  • The entire Alchemist series already occupies the upper mid-range segment.

Intel’s highly anticipated mid-range GPU, the Arc A580, has been noticeably absent from the Innovation 2023 event. This comes over a year after Intel first revealed the specifications of its Arc Alchemist GPU lineup, which included the A580.

The A580 GPU was initially leaked as part of the Arc Alchemist series, boasting an impressive 24 Xe-Cores. This exceeded the specifications of other GPUs in the series, such as the ACM-G11 and ACM-G12. Speculation suggests that the A580 may have been based on the ACM-G10 GPU, which offers up to 32 Xe-Cores.

However, despite its promising specifications, Intel has not released the A580 or provided any updates on its status. It is now reasonable to assume that the GPU has been shelved or may not fit well within Intel’s current product lineup. The entire Alchemist series already occupies the upper mid-range segment, making it difficult for the A580 to effectively compete against nVidia and AMD’s products in the market.

One possible reason for the A580’s absence could be the delayed launch of the Alchemist series. Originally planned for a Q1 2022 release, the six-month delay may have impacted the A580’s prospects and prevented it from gaining the attention it deserved.

Overall, Intel’s decision to not release the A580 at Innovation 2023 raises questions about its future plans for the Arc Alchemist GPU series. As tech enthusiasts eagerly await further updates, it remains to be seen if Intel will bring the A580 to market or if it will fade into obscurity.
