FurMark 2 Set for Release: The Awaited Graphics Benchmarking Software

September 17, 2023 by our News Team

  • User-friendly interface
  • Ability to submit benchmark scores to a public database
  • Comes equipped with GPU-Shark and GPU-Z tools

Geeks3D, the renowned tech community, is set to release FurMark 2, an upgraded version of their popular GPU benchmarking tool. Since its inception in 2022, FurMark has been a go-to software for stress testing GPUs and determining their maximum temperature. However, GPU manufacturers have since implemented measures to prevent GPUs from reaching higher power states and clock speeds when such software is in use.

FurMark 2.0, which supports both OpenGL and Vulkan graphics API, offers three predefined benchmark options: 1080p, 1440p, and 2160p resolutions. Users can also customize their preferred resolution and graphics settings for testing. The user-friendly interface of FurMark 1.0 remains intact in this updated version.

One notable addition in FurMark 2.0 is the ability for users to submit their benchmark scores to a public database. However, it’s important to note that the ranking system may not be suitable for performance evaluations due to the significant variations in scores across different Graphics Cards.

If you’re eager to try out FurMark 2.0, you have two options: wait for the public release or join the Geeks3D Discord community for early access. The latest version, 2.0.10.0, was released in late August and is expected to be one of the final releases before the official launch.

FurMark 2 also comes equipped with GPU-Shark and GPU-Z tools, providing users with comprehensive information about their graphics cards. For those interested in GPU stress testing alternatives, MSI Kombustor and OCCT software are worth considering.

Stay tuned for the release of FurMark 2 this month, as Geeks3D continues to enhance the GPU benchmarking experience for tech enthusiasts and professionals alike.
