EK and InWin have partnered to create the EK-Quantum InWin 977EK, a premium PC case designed for custom loop liquid cooling, featuring a sleek aluminum exterior, easy installation, and versatile hardware compatibility.
- Collaboration between two leading names in the industry, EK and InWin
- Sleek and premium design with a single piece of 4 mm-thick brushed aluminium
- Easy maintenance and installation with removable dust filters, radiator mounts, and sliding motherboard tray
EK, the leading name in custom loop Liquid Cooling, has teamed up with case manufacturer InWin to launch their latest water-cooling-focused PC case, the EK-Quantum InWin 977EK. This premium quality case was designed from scratch with water cooling and ease of use in mind, catering to custom loop liquid cooling enthusiasts.
The EK-Quantum InWin 977EK boasts a sleek outer shell made from a single piece of 4 mm-thick, high-quality brushed aluminium, showcasing the iconic InWin aesthetic. The craftsmanship is evident in the meticulously bent design, crafted by skilled artisans using hand-operated techniques.
One of the standout features of this case is its ease of use. Both the top and bottom parts of the case feature removable dust filters and radiator mounts that slide out from the back, making maintenance and installation of radiators with fans a breeze. The motherboard tray can also slide out at the back, simplifying the PC building process and allowing for hassle-free installation of components such as the motherboard, CPU water block, GPU, and water block assembly.
The power supply mount in this case is not only functional but versatile as well. It can slide out of the case and double as a pump, reservoir, or combo unit mount. It supports tubular-style combo units like the EK-Quantum Kinetic TBE 300 and flat-style units such as the EK-Quantum Kinetic FLT 240. Additionally, there is a dedicated cutout for a rear-mounted pump, allowing for easy installation of a flat-style combo unit without the need for standoffs.
The EK-Quantum InWin 977EK features rail-fitted radiator mounts that allow for easy swapping between 120 and 140 mm type radiators without compromising port positions. It can accommodate radiators with a maximum length of 360 or 420 mm, including longer X-Flow variants. The case also has ample clearance for different radiator and fan configurations, with specific measurements provided for top and bottom clearance.
One of the standout features of this case is its invertible design. By simply rotating the power supply mount and motherboard tray and sliding them to the opposite side of the case, users can transform it into a reverse ATX setup. This allows the case to fully showcase its internals, even if it is positioned on the left side of the desk.
When it comes to hardware compatibility, the EK-Quantum InWin 977EK offers flexibility. There are no specific PSU size constraints unless the power supply mount is used as a combo unit mount with a rear-facing pump. The case can accommodate motherboards that are 310 mm wide, including most extended ATX motherboards. It also supports horizontally mounted GPUs with a maximum width of 190 mm and length of 330 mm.
The case features a capacitive Power-On button in the shape of the EK logo, located at the front and equipped with RGB lighting. Rubberized feet along the base provide stability and airflow to the bottom radiator while dampening vibrations. A removable hard drive mount allows for the installation of 2.5″ and 3.5″ drives, with support for up to 26 mm in height/thickness.
Cable management is often a challenge for PC builders, but the EK-Quantum InWin 977EK addresses this with a generous 32 mm space for effortless cable organization. The backside of the motherboard tray is equipped with slotted holes that can be used as tie-down points, offering flexibility in cable management.
The EK-Quantum InWin 977EK is available for pre-order through the EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network, with an estimated shipping date in early April 2024. It comes in Black and Silver color options, priced at €799.90 MSRP, VAT included.
Overall, the EK-Quantum InWin 977EK is a meticulously designed PC case that combines aesthetics, functionality, and ease of use. With its premium quality build, compatibility with custom loop liquid cooling setups, and thoughtful features, it is sure to impress enthusiasts in the tech community.

Liquid Cooling: Liquid cooling is a technology used to cool down computer components, such as processors, graphics cards, and other components that generate a lot of heat. It works by circulating a liquid coolant, such as water or a special coolant, through a series of pipes and radiators. The liquid absorbs the heat from the components and then dissipates it into the air. This technology is becoming increasingly popular in the computer industry due to its ability to provide more efficient cooling than traditional air cooling methods. Liquid cooling can also be used to overclock components, allowing them to run at higher speeds than their rated speeds. This technology is becoming increasingly popular in the gaming industry, as it allows gamers to get the most out of their hardware.

PSU: A Power Supply Unit (PSU) is an essential component of any computer system. It is responsible for providing the necessary power to the components of the computer. It converts the alternating current (AC) from the wall outlet into the direct current (DC) that the computer components need. The PSU also regulates the voltage and current to ensure that the components are not damaged by too much or too little power. The PSU is also responsible for providing the necessary cooling to the components, as well as protecting them from power surges. In the computer industry, PSUs are used in desktop computers, laptops, servers, and other electronic devices. They are also used in gaming consoles, home theater systems, and other consumer electronics.
