The AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE, initially exclusive to China, is now available in the European DIY market, offering gamers an opportunity to upgrade their systems with impressive specifications and a more affordable price point.

  • Affordable option compared to its counterparts
  • Features 16GB of GDDR6 memory operating on a 256-bit memory bus at 18 Gbps
  • Full 2-year warranty as required by EU regulations

The AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE, also known as the Golden Rabbit Edition, has made its way to the European DIY market. Initially exclusive to China, this unique variant featuring the Navi 31 XL GPU was only available for purchase as part of a complete system. However, the restrictions have now been loosened, allowing consumers in Spain and Romania to buy the RX 7900 GRE separately, without having to invest in an entire gaming PC.

Priced at 719.90 EUR, the Sapphire RX 7900 GRE card offers a more affordable option compared to its counterparts. It is at least 120 EUR cheaper than the RX 7900 XT in Europe and 170 EUR less expensive than the RX 7900 XT PULSE from the same store. This reduction in cost is achieved by bundling the RX 7900 GRE cards with just motherboards and power supply units.

In terms of specifications, the RX 7900 GRE boasts the Navi 31 GPU with 5120 Stream Processors and features 16GB of GDDR6 memory operating on a 256-bit memory bus at 18 Gbps. Interestingly, this memory configuration closely resembles that of the RX 7800 XT, which is based on the full Navi 32 GPU with 3840 cores. The RX 7900 GRE offers a 33% increase in cores compared to the RX 7800 XT, but comes at a price premium of 182 EUR.

It’s worth noting that these cards are sold without the fancy packaging typically associated with retail Graphics Cards. Instead, they are shipped with replacement packaging as they arrive in bulk at the retailer’s warehouse. However, despite this difference, the product still comes with a full 2-year warranty as required by EU regulations.

It’s important to mention that there are currently only four RX 7900 GRE cards available on the market, and three of them are overclocked. Therefore, the provided clock speeds and power specifications should be considered as reference values. The PULSE model offered by these stores has lower clocks than NITRO+, but still performs better than the reference clocks.

Overall, the availability of the Radeon RX 7900 GRE in the European DIY market provides an opportunity for gamers to upgrade their systems without having to purchase an entire gaming PC. With its impressive specifications and more affordable price point, this graphics card is certainly worth considering for those in the market for an upgrade.
