Intel Panther Lake, the upcoming CPU series from Intel, has received early support from AIDA64, a popular system information software. AIDA64’s latest beta release, version 6.92.6610, includes “preliminary support” for the Panther Lake CPUs, allowing the software to recognize these unreleased processors.
It’s worth noting that preliminary support doesn’t guarantee full compatibility with next-gen hardware. AIDA64 may still lack crucial details such as core layout, clock speeds, or cache information unless directly retrieved from the CPU. However, AIDA64 developers are known for being among the first to incorporate early GPU ID and CPU ID data into their software.
The Panther Lake CPUs will be part of Intel’s second generation of processors designed for the desktop LGA-1851 socket. This architecture will also be adapted for use in mobile chips, expanding its reach beyond desktop systems. While the exact release date for Panther Lake remains unknown, industry estimates suggest it will likely arrive between 2025 and 2026.
In addition to Panther Lake support, AIDA64 has also added support for the Clearwater Forest Xeon series. These Xeon CPUs, set to debut in 2025, are specifically designed for data-center use and focus on efficient core utilization.
The Panther Lake CPUs will introduce new core architectures called Cougar Cove (P-Cores) and Darkmont (E-Cores). They will also be the second generation of consumer CPUs from Intel to integrate the Xe²-LPG GPU architecture, following the 2024 Lunar Lake release, which targets low-power devices.
As we eagerly await more information about Intel’s Panther Lake CPUs, it’s clear that AIDA64’s early support is a promising sign of things to come. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development in the world of computing.
