Intel introduces Future Roadmap: 15th Gen Arrow Lake, 1.8nm Panther Lake, and 1.4nm Nova Lake

Intel has launched its future roadmap, providing details about its upcoming Core processor generations, including Arrow Lake, Lunar Lake, Panther Lake, and Nova Lake, expected to launch between 2024 and 2026 with improved performance and efficiency.

Intel has recently launched its future roadmap, providing a glimpse into the upcoming generations of its Core processors. Alongside the announcement of the 14th Gen Meteor Lake, Intel shared details about its CPU roadmap, process nodes, and advanced packaging methods.

The roadmap includes three notable additions to the Core lineup: Arrow Lake, Lunar Lake, and Panther Lake. While official information about these processors is scarce, rumors and leaks have provided some insights.

Starting with the 15th Gen Arrow Lake family, it is set to utilize the Intel 20A, a 2nm-class node for the CPU tile. This tile will consist of Lion Cove “P” and Skymont “E” cores. Interestingly, the iGPU tile will be manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm (N3B) node. The expected launch for the 15th Gen Arrow Lake lineup is in the last quarter of 2024, featuring up to 24 cores.

Following Arrow Lake, Lunar Lake is rumored to be an ultrabook or convertible-centric design similar to Lakefield. It is expected to be manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm (N3B) node and will feature up to 4 P-Cores, 4 E-Cores, and 2 LP-cores. Notably, Lunar Lake will have a lower TDP of 7-15W compared to Arrow Lake.

The 16th Generation family will be an Arrow Lake Refresh with significantly higher core counts. These CPUs are expected to boast 40 cores, consisting of 8 P-cores and 32 E-cores. The launch for this refresh is tentatively planned for the second half of 2025.

Moving on to Panther Lake, it will be fabricated on the Intel 18A node and will introduce a new die layout. Similar to Meteor Lake, Panther Lake will have a mobile-centric focus with Cougar Cove “P” cores and Darkmont “E” cores. The lineup is expected to offer up to 12 cores, including 4P, 8E, and 4LP cores. Panther Lake is anticipated to arrive in the last quarter of 2025.

Lastly, Nova Lake will serve as the true successor to Arrow Lake. It will feature 16 P-cores, 32 E-cores, and 4 LP-cores. Nova Lake will be manufactured on the Intel 14A node and will incorporate P-cores capable of leveraging Rentable Units and Arctic Wolf E-cores. These CPUs are expected to offer high-cache variants similar to AMD’s 3D V-Cache chips. Intel plans to launch Nova Lake in late 2026.
