Noctua introduces NM-M1 multi-socket mounting kits for upgrading and supporting various sockets, featuring the latest SecuFirm2+ standard and offset mounting option for improved performance, with prices starting at EUR 21.90 / USD 21.90.

  • Comprehensive multi-socket compatibility
  • Improved contact pressure and performance with offset mounting option
  • Inclusion of magnetic tip screwdriver for convenience and durability

Noctua, the cooling solutions manufacturer, has launched its latest offering for enthusiasts: the NM-M1 multi-socket mounting kits. These kits are designed to provide an upgrade path for users who wish to migrate their Noctua CPU Coolers to the new SecuFirm2+ standard or to support the latest sockets that their cooler did not initially cater to.

According to Roland Mossig, CEO of Noctua, the mounting system is often overlooked but plays a crucial role in the overall user experience, product safety, and performance. He emphasizes that poor contact pressure or quality can have a detrimental impact on results, even if the heatsink itself is top-notch. Noctua has always prioritized refining its mounting systems, and the NM-M1 kits are a testament to this commitment. These kits raise the bar by integrating the latest SecuFirm2+ standard and offering an offset mounting option for improved performance on AMD AM5.

The NM-M1 sets are the most comprehensive multi-socket mounting kits offered by Noctua to date. They are compatible with a wide range of sockets, including AMD AM5 and AM4, as well as Intel LGA1851, LGA-1700, LGA1200, LGA1151, LGA1150, LGA1155, and LGA1156. This makes them the ultimate solution for various upgrading or switching scenarios.

One notable feature of the new SecuFirm2+ standard is the use of Torx T20 screws instead of Phillips head screws. The Torx drive reduces cam-out, making it easier to operate in tight spaces like pre-assembled PC systems. Additionally, the screw heads experience less wear, enhancing durability. To further enhance convenience and durability, Noctua includes a magnetic tip NM-SD1 Torx T20 screwdriver with the NM-M1 kits, catering to power users who frequently modify their setups.

The NM-M1 kits also come equipped with Noctua’s offset mounting bars for AM5, allowing users to install the cooler shifted towards the south side of the socket by 7 mm. This adjustment improves contact pressure directly above the processor’s hotspot, resulting in significant reductions in CPU temperatures ranging from 1 to 3 degrees Celsius.

The NM-M1-MP83 kit is designed for heatsinks with an 83 mm mounting pitch, while the NM-M1-MP78 kit caters to heatsinks with a 78 mm mounting pitch. These kits are compatible with most Noctua heatsinks produced since 2005, except for the NH-L9a and NH-L9i series, as well as server and workstation models with larger bases. Both kits are available in regular versions with nickel-plated parts and chromax.black variants. The chromax.black variants feature a premium-grade, highly wear-resistant black coating on all screws, fastening brackets, and mounting bars, providing an excellent option for users aiming to create sleek all-black builds with Noctua’s chromax.black line coolers.

The suggested retail prices for the NM-M1 kits are as follows:
– NM-M1-MP83: EUR 21.90 / USD 21.90
– NM-M1-MP78: EUR 21.90 / USD 21.90
– NM-M1-MP83 chromax.black: EUR 24.90 / USD 24.90
– NM-M1-MP78 chromax.black: EUR 24.90 / USD 24.90

Noctua continues to demonstrate its dedication to delivering innovative and high-quality cooling solutions, ensuring that users can optimize their systems for peak performance while maintaining a sleek aesthetic.
