  • Rear-mounted 8-pin power connector

Geforce RTX 4060 Ti, the latest addition to the MEGAsizeGPU lineup, has caught the attention of tech enthusiasts with its unique single-slot design. While most board partners tend to focus on bulkier dual-fan and dual-slot designs, MEGAsizeGPU has taken a different approach by shrinking the RTX 4060 Ti to fit into a single slot.

The RTX 4060 non-Ti variant, with its 115W power consumption, may seem like a suitable candidate for a single-slot design. However, it hasn’t received much attention from board partners in this niche. Gamers typically prefer dual-fan and dual-slot designs due to their reduced noise levels and better aesthetics. Although a few companies have introduced Mini-ITX and low-profile designs, the absence of single-slot configurations and blower-style Coolers is quite noticeable.

The situation is even more pronounced with the 165W RTX 4060 Ti model, as only a handful of companies offer mini-ITX cards for this variant. However, the introduction of a 16GB variant suggests that there is a demand for high-capacity GPUs in memory-intensive tasks, especially within cluster environments. Colorful’s recently launched RTX 4060 Ti 16GB seems to be targeting this specific market segment.

The RTX 4060 Ti 16GB Blower, showcased by MEGAsizeGPU, is an intriguing card. It measures just 26.7 cm in length and occupies only a single slot with a slim blower-style cooler. The small fan expels air through a narrow gap above the display connectors. While this design may result in some audible noise, it is not expected to be a significant concern considering the intended usage scenarios for such cards.

One interesting feature of this card is the placement of the 8-pin power connector at the rear, a configuration commonly associated with workstation GPUs. The RTX 4060 Ti 16GB Blower is equipped with an AD106 GPU featuring 4352 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR6 memory. However, it is worth noting that the card is limited to a 128-bit bus width and a bandwidth of 288 GB/s. Additionally, the PCIe interface is constrained to 8 lanes, allowing users to install multiple cards in their systems.

As of now, there is no information available regarding the price or availability of this model on Colorful’s website. It is possible that, like most blower-style coolers, this card will be sold unofficially to select OEMs and system integrators. nVidia seems to be cautious about GeForce cards competing with their more expensive RTX ADA workstation solutions.

For users interested in similar solutions, Gigabyte offers a triple-fan and low-profile RTX 4060 design, while NVIDIA provides the RTX 4000 SFF ADA model with 20GB of memory and the AD104 GPU, albeit at a significantly higher cost.
