UL, the company behind popular benchmarking tools, is expanding its AI Inference benchmark products with the upcoming UL Procyon AI Image Generation Benchmark. This new benchmark aims to provide a consistent and accurate way to measure the AI performance of high-end hardware.

AI has become a hot topic in recent years, with many industry leaders striving to deliver the best AI Inference performance through their hardware. UL’s Procyon benchmarks have been instrumental in helping users compare and evaluate the AI capabilities of different devices.

The AI Image Generation Benchmark is built around the Stable Diffusion AI model, which is considerably more demanding than the previous Computer Vision benchmark. It is specifically designed to measure and compare the AI Inference performance of modern discrete GPUs.

To cater to a wide range of hardware, UL has included two tests in this benchmark, each using a different version of the Stable Diffusion model. This allows users to assess the performance of both mid-range and high-end discrete Graphics Cards.

Similar to UL’s AI Computer Vision Benchmark, the AI Image Generation Benchmark supports multiple inference engines. Users have the flexibility to switch between these engines, enabling them to compare performance differences or evaluate the best-case implementations of AI Inference across different devices.

Currently, the supported inference engines include Intel OpenVINO, nVidia TensorRT, ONNX runtime with DirectML, and UL Procyon Benchmarking Suite. UL plans to add support for more inference engines in the future to ensure optimal performance for all supported AI hardware.

The UL Procyon benchmark suite offers flexible licensing options, allowing users to choose the benchmarks that best suit their needs. Whether you need just one benchmark or a combination of several, UL has you covered.

Technology Explained

Stable Diffusion: Stable Diffusion is a technology that is used to improve the performance of computer systems. It is a process of spreading out the load of a system across multiple processors or cores. This helps to reduce the amount of time it takes for a system to complete a task, as well as reduce the amount of energy used. Stable Diffusion is used in many areas of the computer industry, such as in cloud computing, distributed computing, and high-performance computing. It is also used in gaming, where it can help to reduce the amount of time it takes for a game to load. Stable Diffusion is also used in artificial intelligence, where it can help to improve the accuracy of machine learning algorithms.
