Gigabyte introduces the Radeon RX 7900 GRE, a new addition to its Gaming series lineup featuring a design similar to the RX 7800 XT and utilizing the Navi 31 XL GPU with a lower power requirement.

  • The RX 7900 GRE features a design borrowed from the popular RX 7800 XT model, making it a visually appealing graphics card.
  • With a smaller Navi 31 XL GPU, the RX 7900 GRE allows for easier board design and potentially lower power consumption compared to other models in the series.
  • While initially targeted at the Chinese market, the RX 7900 GRE has expanded its availability to Europe and other Asian countries, providing more options for consumers.

Gigabyte has introduced a new addition to its Radeon RX 7000 series lineup, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE. This graphics card will be part of the Gaming series and will feature a design borrowed from the Radeon RX 7800 XT model.

The RX 7900 GRE, also known as the Golden Rabbit Edition, was initially targeted at the Chinese market but has since expanded its availability to Europe and other Asian countries. However, there is currently no information regarding its release in the Americas.

The RX 7900 GRE utilizes the Navi 31 XL GPU, which is a smaller variant of the full-fat Navi 31 GPU found in the RX 7900 XT and XTX SKUs. This smaller package allows board partners to reuse the same board design from their RX 7800 XT/7700 XT models, especially considering the power requirement. Interestingly, the RX 7900 GRE actually requires less power (260W) compared to the 7800 XT (263W).

While Gigabyte has not officially listed this model yet, references to it can be found in Japan, suggesting a possible release in that region as well. Unfortunately, further details regarding clock speeds have not been provided by the company at this time.
