German manufacturer be quiet! has just announced the release of white versions for its high-end PC cases, the Dark Base Pro 901 White and Dark Base 701 White. These cases offer a range of innovative features, including support for inverted layouts, excellent airflow, subtle ARGB lighting, and a strong focus on usability. With these new white versions, users can now create stunning white builds without sacrificing quality or performance.

The Dark Base Pro 901 White is designed with a focus on silence and performance optimization. It features detachable panels for the top and front of the case, allowing for easy installation of radiators and fans. The case supports an inverted layout thanks to its intuitive rail system, and it comes with three pre-installed Silent Wings 4 White 140 mm PWM fans to handle cooling demands. The case also includes a VGA holder to prevent GPU sag and cable bars to hide cables inside the case. It supports the installation of one 5.25″ drive and two HDDs or six SSDs out of the box, with the option to expand this further. The fully-windowed tempered glass side panel provides a clear view of the components inside.

The Dark Base Pro 901 White also features subtle ARGB lighting on the front and PSU shroud, adding an elegant touch to the overall design. The lighting and fan settings can be easily controlled via touch-sensitive buttons on the I/O panel. Additionally, the case includes a 15 W wireless charger for Qi-enabled devices.

On the other hand, the Dark Base 701 White is built for high airflow and performance. It comes with three pre-installed Silent Wings 4 White 140 mm PWM fans and has room for an additional five 120 mm or 140 mm fans. The case features fully perforated mesh panels, making it ideal for case fans or water cooling. Installation of drives, fans, and radiators is made easy with tool-less options. The whole motherboard tray can be taken out for assembly outside the case, and there are additional vertical slots for vertical GPU installation with an optional riser cable. The sleek design of the Dark Base 701 White is enhanced by two diffused ARGB LED strips on the front panel, connected to a combined ARGB and fan hub.

Both the Dark Base Pro 901 White and Dark Base 701 White are compatible with additional accessories, such as the tool-free, decoupled HDD Cage 2 for extra HDD and SSD support, and the be quiet! Riser Cable for vertical GPU installation. These cases also come with a full 3-year warranty.

The Dark Base Pro 901 White and Dark Base 701 White are available for purchase starting from March 5th, with prices set at $299.90 / €319.90 / £319.99 for the Dark Base Pro 901 White and $239.90 / €239.90 / £239.99 for the Dark Base 701 White. The Riser Cable and HDD Cage 2 accessories are available separately at $54.90 / €59.90 / £59.99 and $9.90 / €9.90 / £9.99 respectively.

Technology Explained

GPU: GPU stands for Graphics Processing Unit and is a specialized type of processor designed to handle graphics-intensive tasks. It is used in the computer industry to render images, videos, and 3D graphics. GPUs are used in gaming consoles, PCs, and mobile devices to provide a smooth and immersive gaming experience. They are also used in the medical field to create 3D models of organs and tissues, and in the automotive industry to create virtual prototypes of cars. GPUs are also used in the field of artificial intelligence to process large amounts of data and create complex models. GPUs are becoming increasingly important in the computer industry as they are able to process large amounts of data quickly and efficiently.

HDD: A Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is a classic data storage device that utilizes spinning disks, or platters, coated with a magnetic material to store and retrieve data. An actuator arm with read/write heads accesses data by moving over the spinning platters. HDDs offer large storage capacities at a comparatively lower cost per gigabyte, making them suitable for applications where massive data storage is required, such as servers and desktop computers. However, HDDs are slower in terms of read and write speeds compared to SSDs due to the mechanical nature of their operation. They are more susceptible to physical shocks and are less energy-efficient due to the need to constantly spin the platters.

PSU: A Power Supply Unit (PSU) is an essential component of any computer system. It is responsible for providing the necessary power to the components of the computer. It converts the alternating current (AC) from the wall outlet into the direct current (DC) that the computer components need. The PSU also regulates the voltage and current to ensure that the components are not damaged by too much or too little power. The PSU is also responsible for providing the necessary cooling to the components, as well as protecting them from power surges. In the computer industry, PSUs are used in desktop computers, laptops, servers, and other electronic devices. They are also used in gaming consoles, home theater systems, and other consumer electronics.

PWM: Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is a type of technology used in the computer industry that allows for control over pulse and frequency. It works by modulating an output signal’s pulse width or duty cycle to vary the on and off times of the signal. This technology can be used to control and regulate different DC motor, lighting, and other devices. In the computer industry, PWM is often used to control the speed of CPU and GPU fan speeds for improved cooling. It is also used to control backlighting levels on devices such as keyboards or monitors. PWM is versatile, cost-effective, and efficient; as such, it is an important technology in the computer industry.

SSD: A Solid State Drive (SSD) is a modern data storage device that employs flash memory technology to store data electronically. Unlike traditional hard disk drives (HDDs), SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in significantly faster read and write speeds. This leads to quicker boot times, faster application loading, and smoother overall system performance. SSDs are known for their durability, shock resistance, and energy efficiency, making them ideal for laptops, ultrabooks, and other portable devices. They come in various form factors, including 2.5-inch, M.2, and PCIe cards, and are favored for their reliability, quiet operation, and reduced heat generation
