ASUS and Noctua collaborate to create the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Noctua Edition graphics card, featuring state-of-the-art NF-A12x25 fans and a custom-built vapor chamber for top-notch performance and near-silent operation.

  • Top-notch performance
  • Near-silent noise levels
  • Collaboration with Noctua engineers for optimal design

ASUS has just launched its latest graphics card, the Geforce RTX 4080 SUPER Noctua OC Edition, which promises to deliver top-notch performance while operating at near-silent noise levels. This premium graphics card builds upon the success of its predecessors, the GeForce RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 4080 Noctua Edition variants, and features Noctua fans, a custom-built vapor chamber, and a massive heatsink.

The ASUS GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Noctua Edition is equipped with two state-of-the-art NF-A12x25 fans from Noctua. These fans were developed through a collaboration between ASUS’ thermal R&D team and Noctua engineers. The design process involved optimizing the fin density and heat pipe arrangement of the heatsink to match the airflow characteristics of the NF-A12x25 fans. To ensure low noise levels and high cooling performance, ASUS expanded the card’s total volume to occupy 4.3 slots of space. The card also comes with a Dual BIOS switch, with Quiet mode enabled by default for minimal acoustics right out of the box.

The NF-A12x25 fan was a natural choice for this project due to its innovative features. The fan’s impeller is made of Noctua’s proprietary Sterrox liquid-crystal polymer, which allows the fan blades to sit just 0.5 mm away from the outer frame. This tight tolerance enables the NF-A12x25 to work efficiently against back pressure, making it ideal for a densely-packed GPU fin stack. Furthermore, the fan’s metal-reinforced motor hub and axis ensure precise alignment between the impeller and frame.

Thanks to its efficient cooling solution, the ASUS GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Noctua Edition operates at an impressively quiet 27dB under full load. Gamers can trust ASUS and Noctua’s decades of engineering expertise to maximize the performance of the nVidia GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER.

In terms of aesthetics, ASUS understands that Noctua enthusiasts value both performance and visual appeal. The ASUS GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Noctua Edition features a custom brown shroud for the NF-A12x25 fans, complementing their separateive color scheme. The card also boasts ASUS and Noctua logos on the front and sides of the shroud, as well as subtle graphics on the full-length alloy backplate, ensuring a seamless integration with other Noctua components in a system.

To fully unleash the potential of the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, users can take advantage of the latest version of ASUS GPU Tweak III software. This software offers various features that make it easy to optimize the performance of the GPU. Users can choose from preset modes to boost power or reduce noise with a single click, and even create custom profiles for different games. One exciting new feature is the Mobile Monitor, which allows users to connect to GPU Tweak via their phone or remote device to monitor their graphics card’s stats in real-time, without overlaying the gameplay.

For optimal performance, users can pair the GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua SUPER Edition with the ROG Thor 1000 W Platinum II power supply from ASUS. This power supply not only provides high-quality components and efficient operation but also features an OLED display on the side for real-time power draw monitoring and Aura Sync support for added RGB flair.
