  • Built-in stand
  • GPU frequency of up to 3.0 GHz and features an 8-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1200

Emdoor, a company primarily known for its Mini-PCs and Tablets, is stepping into the handheld gaming device market with its latest offering. This device features Intel’s upcoming Meteor Lake H-series processors, paired with the Intel Arc 5 GPU. While the official release of the Meteor Lake-H chips is set for December, Emdoor is already giving us a sneak peek at what their device will bring to the table.

In terms of design, the Emdoor handheld doesn’t stray too far from its competitors like AYANEO, ONEXPLAYER, or AYN. However, it does come with some custom features, including a built-in stand. The device is powered by a Meteor Lake-H processor, which operates within a power range of 20W to 25W. This is higher than what we typically see in handheld devices like the Steam Deck">Steam Deck or ASUS ROG Ally. It’s important to note that this power range refers to the default TDP of the CPU itself, not the exact specifications of the device.

When it comes to performance, the Emdoor handheld boasts a GPU frequency of up to 3.0 GHz and features an 8-inch screen with a resolution of 1920×1200. This screen size has become increasingly popular in the handheld gaming space. In terms of storage, the device supports PCIe Gen4 specifications with a capacity of up to 2TB. While Emdoor hasn’t confirmed the system memory speed, they suggest it may support up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory.

One standout feature of this device is its integration of the Arc 5 GPU, which is an integrated Alchemist GPU. While the exact number of Xe-Cores in this chip remains undisclosed, experts speculate that it falls within the range of 4 to 8 Xe-Cores, which aligns with expectations for Meteor Lake chips. Notably, the Arc A5 GPU showcased its ability to run games like God of War during a recent demonstration.

With the market already flourishing thanks to the introduction of AMD’s Phoenix APU, which combines Zen4 and RDNA3 architectures, the competition in the handheld gaming device space is set to intensify even further with the release of Intel’s Meteor Lake-H. Exciting times lie ahead for gamers looking for powerful and portable gaming experiences.
