Axiomtek has launched its IPC962A and IPC964A series of modular industrial edge systems, powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core processor, with support for up to 200W power for add-in cards, 5G connectivity, and a wide range of I/O options, making them suitable for a variety of industrial applications.

Axiomtek, a well-known leader in the industrial computer products industry, has launched its latest series of modular industrial edge systems, the IPC962A and IPC964A. These systems boast flexible expansion capabilities and are powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core processor, codenamed Alder Lake-S, with the Intel H610E/Q670E chipset.
One of the standout features of these edge computers is their support for high power levels of up to 200W for add-in cards, such as nVidia Graphics Cards. This allows for enhanced performance acceleration and opens up possibilities for applications that require intensive computing power. Additionally, the IPC962A and IPC964A offer seamless 5G connectivity, ensuring next-gen communication capabilities.
Certified by EN 61000-6-2 regulation, these industrial edge systems are designed to thrive in heavy-loading industrial environments. They feature a durable design, a long product life cycle, and high immunity to withstand the demands of industrial settings. With their fast and flexible deployment capabilities, these adaptable industrial computers can easily adapt to changes or new circumstances, making them suitable for a wide range of applications including AI, vision inspection, objective classification, and factory automation.
Building upon the success of the IPC960 series, Axiomtek’s IPC962A and IPC964A retain the flexible expansion options that have made their predecessors popular. They come with one optional I/O expansion module slot, offering compatibility with a range of I/O modules such as AX93511, AX93512, AX93516, AX93519, and MIO160. These systems are equipped with 2/4 PCIe/PCI slots, allowing for seamless integration of various add-on cards like I/O cards, motion cards, vision cards, and GPU cards. This enables support for machine control and vision applications or automated optical inspection (AOI).
The IPC962A and IPC964A can support up to 200W power for add-on cards with the Axiomtek EIO141 module (1 PCIe x16 Gen 4 + 1 PCIe x8/x4 Gen 3 + 2 PCIe x4 Gen 4) and EIO142 module (1 PCIe x16 Gen 4 + 1 PCIe x4 Gen 4 + 2 PCI). These industrial computers have a wide operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C, making them suitable for use in mission-critical environments. They also feature a wide range of power input from 18 to 36 VDC.
“IIPC962A and IPC964A are designed to deliver efficiency, productivity, and ruggedness across industries,” said Ivy Lee, the product manager of AIoT Product PM Division at Axiomtek. These systems are equipped with dual DDR5 4800/4000 SO-DIMM, allowing for up to 64GB of system memory. With support for two 2.5″ HDD/SSD and one optional M.2 Key M 2280 socket (PCIe x4 Gen 4), these industrial computers offer ample storage for massive data processing. They also support Intel VMD for enterprise-grade management of NVMe SSD. Additionally, they come with one full-size PCI Express Mini Card slot with a SIM slot and one M.2 Key E 2230 socket for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/LTE modules. Furthermore, there is one M.2 Key B 3042/3050/3052/3060 socket with a SIM slot available for 5G module (Intel Q670E), catering to the growing demand for 5G connectivity.
In terms of security, Axiomtek has implemented robust measures in these expandable industrial systems. They support intelligent power management to control the ACC ignition, remote power, and remote LED. They also support TPM 2.0 for enhanced data encryption and security.
The IPC962A and IPC964A offer a wide range of I/O options, including one 2.5GbE LAN port (Intel I226V), one GbE LAN port with Intel AMT, one RS-232/422/485, six USB 3.2 Gen2x1 (10G) ports, one internal USB 2.0 port, one DisplayPort++, one HDMI with 4096 x 2304 resolution, one DVI-D with 1920 x 1200 resolution, one 3.5mm jack for Mic-in and Line-out, one power on/off switch with LED (default ATX), a 4-pin terminal block for DC input, and a 4-pin terminal block for ignition control.
