  • Integration of the Redshift rendering engine
  • Support for both CPU and GPU benchmarking
  • Increased memory footprint and computation effort

Maxon has just announced the release of Cinebench 2024, a new version of their popular rendering benchmark software. This latest iteration of Cinebench brings some exciting updates, including a switch to the Redshift rendering engine from Cinema 4D’s previous engine. One notable addition is the reintroduction of GPU benchmarking, which was absent in previous versions.

Cinebench 2024 is designed to support a wide range of hardware configurations, including X86 and X64 systems based on Intel or AMD processors. It is also compatible with Apple Silicon and macOS, as well as Qualcomm Snapdragon for Windows. In terms of graphics, it supports AMD, nVidia, and Apple graphics for Redshift GPU testing.

One of the key improvements in Cinebench 2024 is its increased memory footprint and computation effort. Maxon claims a threefold increase in memory footprint and a sixfold increase in computation effort compared to previous versions. This makes the software ideal for high-core count CPUs and more complex rendering tasks. However, it’s important to note that due to the changes in the rendering engine and increased complexity, metrics from previous versions of Cinebench cannot be directly compared.

The new version of Cinebench can be downloaded for free from the official Maxon website. With its integration of the Redshift rendering engine, support for both CPU and GPU benchmarking, wider platform compatibility, streamlined benchmarking scene, revamped user interface, and under-the-hood enhancements, Cinebench 2024 offers an enhanced and accurate evaluation of modern hardware capabilities.
