- Sleek new designs
- Triple-fan cooling solution with Torx Fan 5.0
- Slimmer and lighter than GAMING X TRIO model
MSI has announced a major update to its GAMING lineup, introducing thinner models across the board. Previously, the GAMING SLIM series only consisted of the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB version. However, MSI is now revamping the entire lineup with sleek new designs, including the RTX 4090, 4080, 4070 Ti, 4070, and 4060 Ti.
While the official press release focuses on three specific SKUs – the 4070 Ti, 4070, and 4060 Ti – it suggests that the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 will be released at a later date. Notably, MSI has chosen not to produce a GAMING SLIM version for the RTX 4060.
With various color options and both factory overclocked and non-overclocked versions available, the revamped lineup will offer over 20 different models. Some of the models include MSI RTX 4090 24GB GAMING X SLIM WHITE, MSI RTX 4080 16GB GAMING SLIM, and MSI RTX 4070Ti 12GB GAMING X SLIM.
The standout feature of the SLIM series is its triple-fan cooling solution, equipped with Torx Fan 5.0, a copper baseplate, and up to 8 heat pipes. While there may be slight variations in the exact configuration among models, this cooling setup is expected to be present in all AD104/AD106 variants.
In terms of size, the RTX 4070 Ti adopts a slim 2.5-slot design, measuring 30.7×12.5 cm in length and width. This makes it slimmer and lighter than the GAMING X TRIO model. The non-Ti version of the RTX 4070 will feature a similar cooler size but in a 2-slot design. The same cooler is also used in the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB SKU.
It’s worth noting that the SLIM models have slightly lower clock speeds compared to the older GAMING TRIO models, though the difference is minimal at just 15 MHz (0.5%) for the RTX 4070 Ti.
All GAMING SLIM models come with a branded VGA support bracket and necessary power adapters. Those opting for the WHITE SLIM series will receive white power cables.
Overall, MSI’s refresh of its GAMING lineup with thinner models brings a sleek new design and improved cooling solutions to gamers and enthusiasts alike.
