- Equipped with RDNA 3.5 iGPU and XDNA engine for mild AI workloads
- Two power envelopes: 22W and 28W
- 14-inch QHD+ display with a refresh rate of 165Hz
AMD has launched its latest offering in the tablet market with the introduction of the Ryzen 8000 processors. The world’s first Ryzen 8000-powered tablet, called the V3, is set to be released by Minisforum in early 2024. While these Tablets won’t feature the next-gen “Zen 5” core architecture, they will still pack a punch with the existing Zen 4 cores. The Ryzen 8000 APUs, codenamed Hawk Point, will be a refresh of the Ryzen 7000 “Phoenix” family.
Similar to most x86 designs, the V3 tablet will run on Windows 11, making it a convertible device. One of the standout features of this tablet is the inclusion of the RDNA 3.5 iGPU and the XDNA engine, which enhances performance for mild AI workloads. The Ryzen AI feature is built on top of this dedicated chip, providing users with an optimized experience.
The Ryzen 8000 APUs on the Minisforum V3 tablet will be available in two power envelopes: 22W and 28W. This puts them in line with most ultrabooks and convertibles in terms of power consumption. In terms of connectivity, the tablet offers two USB 4 ports, one USB Type-C DP-in Only port, an audio jack, and an SD card slot. It also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for seamless wireless connectivity.
The V3 tablet boasts a vibrant 14-inch QHD+ display with a Refresh Rate of 165Hz, ensuring smooth visuals and an immersive viewing experience. The device is equipped with two high speakers and two low speakers, delivering high-quality audio output. On the front, there is a 2-megapixel camera with Windows Hello support for facial recognition, while the rear camera offers a resolution of 5 megapixels.
With a QHD+ display running at 165Hz, battery life is a concern for many users. However, Minisforum has addressed this issue by equipping the V3 with a battery capacity greater than 50Wh, ensuring that it can keep up with the notebook-class hardware. Additionally, the tablet supports MPP2.0 stylus technology, providing artists and content creators with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity for a more precise and natural drawing experience.
Overall, the Minisforum V3 tablet powered by AMD’s Ryzen 8000 processors offers a compelling package for users looking for a versatile and high-performance device. While it may not feature the latest core architecture, the inclusion of the RDNA 3.5 iGPU and AI engine ensures that it can handle a wide range of tasks efficiently. With its impressive display, audio capabilities, and compatibility with stylus technology, the V3 tablet is well-suited for both productivity and creative endeavors.

Technology Explained
iGPU: An integrated Graphics Processing Unit (iGPU) is a component built into a computer's central processing unit (CPU) or system-on-chip (SoC) that handles graphical tasks. Unlike dedicated graphics cards, which are separate components, an iGPU shares system resources with the CPU, allowing for basic graphics capabilities without the need for an additional card. While typically less powerful than dedicated GPUs, iGPUs are energy-efficient and well-suited for everyday computing tasks
