Intel's 4885 driver update for Arc & IrIs GPUs provides substantial FPS boosts of up to 119% in popular DX11 games like Destiny 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Call of Duty Black Ops 3, and Deus Ex Human Revolution.
- Intel's Arc GPU drivers are getting a boost in performance for DX11 games.
- Rainbow Six Siege sees a 32% increase, Payday 3 gets a 37% improvement, and Call of Duty Black Ops 3 experiences an impressive 88% boost.
- Modern Warfare takes the cake with a staggering 90% increase in performance.
Intel’s Arc GPU drivers are getting a boost in performance for DX11 games. While the Arc Alchemist architecture has already shown impressive performance in DX12 titles, older DX11 and DX9 games have been patiently waiting for Intel’s optimizations. In August, Intel released a significant driver update for Arc & IrIs GPUs, resulting in substantial FPS boosts ranging from 5% to 33% in popular games like Destiny 2 and Overwatch 2. On average, this update improved performance by 12% to 19% on different CPUs.
Now, Intel is expanding the list of games that benefit from these driver improvements. Rainbow Six Siege sees a 32% increase, Payday 3 gets a 37% improvement, and Call of Duty Black Ops 3 experiences an impressive 88% boost. Modern Warfare takes the cake with a staggering 90% increase in performance. However, the most notable enhancement can be seen in Deus Ex Human Revolution, where frame rates at 1080p resolution see a remarkable 119% improvement.
The list of DX11 titles mentioned by the drivers includes 17 games with DX11 graphics API, two with DX12 support, and one with DXR support. Some notable titles on the list are Forza Motorsport, Resident Evil 4 with Ray Tracing, The Last of Us Part 1, War Thunder, Naraka: Bladepoint, Final Fantasy XIV Online, Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, Tomb Raider, and many more.
It’s interesting to note that Intel’s official blog post about the new driver update doesn’t mention any specific DX11 improvements. Instead, the post focuses on Intel’s Game On program, which aims to optimize games at launch. The program highlights titles like Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Forza Motorsport.

Ray Tracing: Ray tracing is an advanced rendering technique used in computer graphics to simulate the way light interacts with objects in a virtual environment. It traces the path of light rays as they travel through a scene, calculating how they interact with surfaces, materials, and lighting sources. By simulating the complex behaviors of light, ray tracing produces highly realistic and accurate visual effects, including lifelike reflections, shadows, and refractions. This technology enhances the overall visual quality of images and animations by accurately replicating how light behaves in the real world, resulting in a more immersive and visually stunning digital experience.
