German gaming laptop manufacturer XMG has launched its latest products, the XMG FUSION 15 and CORE 15, marking the company’s entry into the 15.3-inch laptop market. These compact devices, weighing around 2 kg and measuring just 21.9 mm in height, feature a sleek and elegant design with an almost entirely aluminium chassis. The main difference between the two models lies in their processors, with the FUSION 15 powered by Intel’s Core i9-14900HX or i7-14650HX, and the CORE 15 featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS.

Both Laptops come with a WQXGA display boasting a brightness of 500 nits and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The display is complemented by narrow bezels on all four sides, allowing for a Windows Hello-compatible dual-sensor webcam with a physical cover. The keyboards on both models are edge-to-edge and feature a four-row numeric keypad, dedicated navigation keys, and a Fn-Lock function. The touchpads are also spacious and comfortable to use.

In terms of performance, the XMG FUSION 15 offers a wide range of configurable components, including the option for an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor and an nVidia Geforce RTX 4070 or 4060 graphics card. On the other hand, the XMG CORE 15 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor and an RTX 4060 graphics card, which includes advanced AI acceleration functions integrated into the CPU.

To ensure optimal performance, both laptops feature well-ventilated chassis with composite cooling systems. These systems include four air outlets with copper heat sinks, as well as phase-changing thermal pads on the processor and graphics card. This allows for efficient cooling and maximizes the graphics performance of the available GPUs.

Connectivity options on the XMG FUSION 15 include Thunderbolt 4/USB4, HDMI 2.1, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, three USB-A 3.2 ports, an SD card reader, and a 2-in-1 audio jack. The XMG CORE 15 offers similar connectivity options, with the exception of a Thunderbolt 4 port, which is replaced by a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port linked to the integrated AMD graphics unit. Additionally, the CORE 15 also includes a Mini DisplayPort 1.4 with dGPU connection.

Both laptops come with a 99.8 Wh battery and feature newly designed, compact power supply units. The XMG FUSION 15’s power supply unit measures 160 x 69 x 25 mm, while the CORE 15’s power supply unit is even smaller at 125 x 70 x 25 mm.

The XMG FUSION 15 and CORE 15 also include the extended XMG Control Center, allowing users to make fine-grained adjustments to CPU and GPU power limits, create custom performance profiles, and adjust fan curves. The Intel-based FUSION 15 also offers CPU undervolting and RAM tuning features.

The base configuration of the XMG FUSION 15 starts at €1,599, while the XMG CORE 15 starts at €1,399. Upgrades are available for an additional charge. The laptops are expected to be shipped from the end of March for the FUSION 15 and mid-April for the CORE 15.

Looking ahead, XMG plans to release the XMG NEO 16 in May, which will feature a complete redesign and offer even more powerful specifications, including Intel’s Core i9-14900HX processor and Graphics Cards up to the GeForce RTX 4090.
