AMD's FSR3 upscaling technology is now supported in the co-op game "Starship Troopers: Extermination" and the upcoming dark RPG "The Thaumaturge," with plans to add support for FSR profiles and other upscaling technologies in the future, expanding the list of FSR3 supported games to 14 titles.

  • FSR3 is being integrated into highly anticipated games, increasing its availability and potential impact on gaming experiences.
  • The recent patch 0.6.2 for "Starship Troopers: Extermination" brings important updates for both NVIDIA and AMD graphics card users, showing a commitment to improving performance for all players.
  • The list of FSR3 supported games continues to grow, with a total of 14 titles now utilizing this technology, indicating its success and potential for future adoption.

AMD’s third generation upscaling technology, FSR3, is making its way to two highly anticipated games: “Starship Troopers: Extermination” and “The Thaumaturge.” “Starship Troopers: Extermination” is a co-op game based on the iconic 1997 movie, utilizing Unreal Engine 4. While the game is still in early access, the recent patch 0.6.2 brings important updates for both nVidia and AMD graphics card users.

One notable addition is the support for Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), specifically the version without Frame Generation. Additionally, FSR3, which does support Frame Generation, is also now supported in the game. It’s worth mentioning that Intel XeSS is also supported. However, it’s important to ensure that your hardware is compatible with these settings as performance may be affected. Currently, the game does not support FSR profiles, but they are planning to add this feature along with other upscaling technologies in the future. On a positive note, the game already includes resolution scaling support.

As for “The Thaumaturge,” an upcoming dark RPG set in Warsaw during the 20th century, it has been confirmed that the game will launch on February 20th with AMD FSR3 integration.

With these additions, the list of FSR3 supported games continues to grow, now encompassing a total of 14 titles. Some notable games on the list include “Forspoken,” “Immortals of Aveum,” “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora,” and “Call of Duty Modern Warfare III & Warzone.”

AMD’s FSR3 technology aims to enhance gaming experiences by providing improved upscaling capabilities. As more games adopt this technology, players can expect enhanced visuals and performance on their AMD-powered systems.

FSR: AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) is a type of rendering technique that looks to boost framerates in games and enable quality high-resolution gaming. It is an software upscaling technology, designed to improve the performance of games without loss of image quality and graphical detail. It works by rendering frames at a lower resolution and then using an open-source spatial upscaling algorithm to make the game look as though it's running at a higher resolution13. It is different from Nvidia's DLSS, which uses machine learning and temporal upscaling to achieve similar results. FSR is part of AMD's FidelityFX image toolkit and does not require specific training or special-purpose logic within the GPU. AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) scales across a broad spectrum of new and older products, including integrated graphics, and is optimized for AMD RDNA and AMD RDNA 2 architecture-based Radeon RX 6000 and RX 5000 Series graphics cards. FSR is also supported on select NVIDIA graphics cards.

XeSS: XeSS (XML-enabled Scripting System) is a powerful scripting language developed by Microsoft that enables developers to create dynamic web applications. It is based on the XML language and is designed to be easy to use and understand. XeSS is used in the computer industry to create dynamic web applications that can be used to create interactive websites, web services, and web applications. XeSS is also used to create web-based applications that can be used to access and manipulate data stored in databases.
