MainGear's Revolt series offers handcrafted, pre-configured gaming PCs with limited availability, featuring powerful components and convenient features such as an integrated handle and tool-free side panels.
- Compact Mini-ITX form factor
- Integrated handle for portability
- Tool-free side panels for easy disassembly
Maingear has recently launched their latest line of gaming PCs, the Revolt series, as part of their exclusive Drops collection. These handcrafted and pre-configured systems offer limited availability, adding to their appeal. The Revolt series kicks off with six different configurations, catering to various budgets.
What sets these systems apart is their utilization of the HYTE Revolt 3 chassis, a Mini-ITX case priced at $129. Surprisingly, despite their smaller form factor, these mini-ITX configurations boast similar specifications to Maingear’s premium ATX “North Series” but at a slightly more affordable price point. Building Mini-ITX systems requires meticulous attention to detail and extensive testing, especially when it comes to efficient thermal management, particularly for pushing the GPU to its limits. The Revolt series even offers configurations with the powerful RTX 4090 graphics card.
According to Maingear’s website, the entry-level model of the Revolt series starts at $1499 and features an RTX 4060 graphics card paired with an i5-13400F processor. For an additional $200, users can upgrade to the Ti variant of the GPU. Moving up the performance ladder, the RTX 4070 series begins at $2099, while the RTX 4080 configuration is priced at $3449. For those seeking the ultimate gaming experience, the flagship system comes with a Core i9-13900K processor and an RTX 4090 GPU, available at $4549.
One standout feature of the Revolt series is its integrated handle, making it a convenient choice for gamers who are frequently on the move or attend LAN parties. Additionally, the tool-free side panels allow for easy disassembly. It’s worth noting that the Mini-ITX motherboard is designed with downward-facing I/O ports, which greatly improves cable management, although it may not be the most practical configuration in certain cases.
However, it’s important to consider that the launch of the 14th Gen Core series is just three weeks away. Therefore, investing in Revolt systems equipped with 13th Gen Core processors, especially at price points exceeding $2,000, may not be the wisest decision. Intel is likely to offer these CPUs at lower prices shortly, following the pattern observed with the 12th Gen series.
MainGear’s Revolt series presents an enticing lineup of gaming PCs, offering impressive performance and features within a compact Mini-ITX form factor. With limited availability and attention to detail in their craftsmanship, these systems are sure to attract gamers looking for a blend of power and portability.
