However, Geekom has stepped in to address this issue with their new Mini IT13. This impressive 4×4 desktop is the first of its kind to feature an Intel Core i9 processor, boasting a whopping 14 CPU cores.
Measuring just 117 mm × 112 mm × 49.2 mm, the Mini IT13 is on par with Intel’s classic NUC systems in terms of size. Despite its compact form factor, it manages to house Intel’s mobile-focused Core i9-13900H processor. This 14-core CPU comes with integrated Xe graphics processing unit, offering enhanced performance with 96 EUs or 768 stream processors.
To ensure consistent performance and prevent overheating, the Mini IT13 utilizes a blower-style cooler. While this cooling solution may produce up to 43.6 dBA of noise, it effectively keeps the CPU running smoothly under heavy workloads.
In terms of memory and storage, the compact PC supports up to 64 GB of DDR4 memory through two SODIMMs. It also features an M.2-2280 slot with PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, an M.2-2242 SSD with a SATA interface, and an additional 2.5-inch HDD or SSD for expanded storage options.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, a 2.5 GbE port, USB4 connectors, USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, USB 2.0 Type-A connector, HDMI 2.0 outputs, an SD card reader, and a TRRS audio jack for headphones.
Interestingly, the presence of USB4 ports potentially allows for connecting an external graphics card in an eGFX enclosure, making the Mini IT13 a viable gaming machine. Even without an external GPU, the system can support up to four displays simultaneously.
