Intel is set to reveal its 14th Gen Core series of desktop processors, featuring up to 24 cores and support for both DDR4 and DDR5 memory, with an event on September 19th.
- Up to 24 cores
- Supports both DDR4 and DDR5 memory
- Potential special edition i9-14900KS model with a boost clock of up to 6.2 GHz
Intel is gearing up to reveal its latest desktop processor lineup, known as the 14th Gen Core or Raptor Lake Refresh series. Hardware leaker “YuuKi_AnS” has provided some insights into what we can expect from this upcoming release. While the list of models may not be complete, it does give us a glimpse into Intel’s plans for its new desktop products.
According to the leaked information, Intel’s 14th Gen Core series could include a whopping 27 models. These models are categorized into different series, including KS-Series, K-Series, KF-Series, non-K Series, F-Series, and T-Series. Each series has its own unique specifications and features.
The lineup is expected to offer processors ranging from 2 to 24 cores. It starts with the Intel 300 CPU, which features a dual-core configuration and a 46W TDP but lacks boost capability. Moving up the ladder, the Core i3 series offers quad-core configurations, with some SKUs reportedly lacking boost support.
For gamers, the Core i5 tier will provide configurations with either 6P+4E or 6P+8E. The leaker suggests that different configurations are being tested, such as the Core i5-14400, which could have either 10 or 14 core specifications. The final specifications for these models are yet to be confirmed.
All of these models will support both DDR4 and DDR5 memory. However, it is expected that DDR5 memory will be the primary focus for motherboard manufacturers and prebuilt system integrators, as DDR4 options will likely be reserved for the previous generations of CPUs.
Intel is set to unveil the 14th Gen Core series at an event on September 19th. However, only the K and KF models will be launched initially, with the non-K and T-series expected to arrive early next year. Rumors suggest that a special edition i9-14900KS model with a boost clock of up to 6.2 GHz might also make an appearance later.
While we await the official announcement from Intel, these leaked details give us a glimpse into the potential power and performance of the upcoming 14th Gen Core series. Stay tuned for more updates on Intel’s latest desktop processors.
