Diablo IV's latest update, Patch 1.3.5, brings graphical enhancements including ray tracing and other visual upgrades for a more immersive gaming experience, with NVIDIA GeForce users, especially those with the RTX 40 Series, benefiting the most from these improvements.

In the latest update for Diablo IV, players will be able to experience the horrors of Hell in a whole new light. Patch 1.3.5 brings a suite of graphical enhancements, including Ray Tracing and other visual upgrades, to create a more immersive and realistic gaming experience.

nVidia Geforce users, particularly those with the RTX 40 Series, will be able to take full advantage of these enhancements. With NVIDIA DLSS 3 Frame Generation, players can maximize their ray tracing settings and frame rates, while DLSS 2’s Super Resolution technology allows other GeForce RTX users to boost performance. The power of DLSS 3 can even triple performance on a GeForce RTX 40 Series GPU. Additionally, NVIDIA Reflex reduces system Latency, ensuring smoother and more responsive gameplay for those critical moments.

Ray tracing is a game-changer when it comes to lifelike graphics. Shadows cast by the sun, for example, are significantly improved with ray tracing enabled. The difference is striking when comparing images with ray tracing off and on. Shadows become softer and more realistic, adding depth and immersion to the game world. Reflections on surfaces like water also benefit from ray tracing, offering more detailed and realistic visuals. You might even catch glimpses of off-screen elements in reflections, further enhancing the environmental storytelling.

Ambient occlusion, which determines how much surrounding objects affect the lighting of a surface, has also been updated and enhanced in Diablo IV. This feature adds another layer of realism to the game’s visuals, particularly noticeable on PC with the ‘Ultra Quality’ graphics setting.

Contact Shadows have also received an update, now applying to all characters in the game world. Previously, they were only visible around player characters, but now NPCs and monsters also cast shadows. This improvement further enhances the overall visual fidelity of the game.

To enable these visual enhancements on PC, players can access the options menu in-game and manually select the desired settings. Console players can do the same by navigating to the graphics tab in the options menu. However, it’s worth noting that on consoles, the enhanced visuals feature is locked at 30 frames per second to maintain overall performance.
