Turtle Beach, a leading gaming headset and accessories manufacturer, has launched its latest addition to the VelocityOne flight sim range – the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flightdeck. This premium combat HOTAS (Hands-On Throttle And Stick) flight simulation control system is designed for Windows 10 and 11 PCs, aiming to provide a comprehensive and immersive experience for flight and space combat games.
The VelocityOne Flightdeck, available for pre-order today at £379.99 MSRP, is set to launch on February 13, 2024. Drawing inspiration from state-of-the-art jet fighters and advanced spacecraft controls, Turtle Beach has crafted a HOTAS experience like no other. Compatible with all major flight simulation titles on Windows PCs, this control system boasts 15 axes and 139 programmable functions, ensuring pilots stay fully engaged in the action.
One of the standout features of the VelocityOne Flightdeck is its Flight Touch Display and OLED Heads-Up Display. These innovative additions provide real-time sim status indications, customizable input buttons, and access to diagnostics and performance adjustments. Pilots can tailor their setup on-the-fly, adjusting axis response curves, rudder lock, lighting, touchpad response, and even Turtle Beach audio enhancements for connected 3.5 mm headsets.
The design of the VelocityOne Flightdeck is both comprehensive and complete. It consists of two individual USB-connected devices, offering a wide range of controls for gamers to utilize in their favorite simulation titles. The stick and throttle controls are built to withstand rigorous use, utilizing non-contact hall-effect sensors for high-precision accuracy.
The stick module of the VelocityOne Flightdeck is packed with features, including 49 programmable functions, dual-stage triggers, head-mounted HAT switches, and multi-function fire buttons for quick response times. It also offers a soft-touch hand rest and adjustable height for optimal comfort. The stick can be easily removed from the base for convenient storage and future expansion of the Flightdeck system.
With 139 programmable buttons located on the throttle and stick modules, as well as the Flight Touch Display, pilots have endless customization options to suit their preferences. The adjustable stick height ensures a perfect fit for all hand sizes, while Turtle Beach’s exclusive Pro-Aim Focus Mode allows for precise targeting and control during combat scenarios.
The throttle module of the VelocityOne Flightdeck draws inspiration from 6th generation fighter jets. Pilots can choose between independent adjustment of two engines or lock the levers together for main thruster control. Each throttle lever is equipped with additional controls for fine-tuning thrust alteration and mastery of engine and fuel systems. Throttle detent response can be customized using the Flight Touch Display, allowing pilots to set precise reverse thrust, afterburner, or star drive actuation points.
In terms of audio capabilities, the VelocityOne Flightdeck supports any 3.5 mm headset, taking advantage of Turtle Beach’s proven audio functions such as Superhuman Hearing, audio EQ modes, mic monitoring, and game and chat volume balance.
For added personalization, gamers can adjust the RGB lighting zones on the VelocityOne Flightdeck. Whether playing in low light conditions or wanting to match the color scheme of their favorite aircraft, pilots have full control over the RGB LEDs to create their desired ambiance. Additional lighting effects can be accessed through the Flight Hangar companion app.
Speaking about the new product, Cris Keirn, Interim CEO & SVP of Global Sales at Turtle Beach Corporation, expressed excitement about expanding their VelocityOne product family with the Flightdeck. He highlighted the abundance of customization options available to combat pilots, allowing them to stay in complete control whether engaged in intense dogfights or exploring the vastness of space.
To further enhance performance and customization, Turtle Beach offers the Flight Hangar app for Windows PCs. This app allows pilots to create comprehensive configuration profiles for specific simulation titles or aircraft, which can then be directly sent to the VelocityOne Flightdeck using its onboard memory. Future firmware updates can also be easily accomplished through the Flight Hangar app, ensuring the Flightdeck operates at its peak performance.
