- New zones, dungeons, raids, and more

- Hero Talents, a new level of class specialization customization
Blizzard Entertainment has just made a major announcement at BlizzCon 2023, revealing The Worldsoul Saga, a trilogy of expansions for the beloved MMORPG World of Warcraft. The first expansion, titled World of Warcraft: The War Within, is set to release in 2024, taking players on an adventure deep beneath the surface. Following that, World of Warcraft: Midnight and World of Warcraft: The Last Titan will complete the epic saga, inviting players to save the world of Azeroth.
Holly Longdale, executive producer of World of Warcraft, expressed her excitement about The Worldsoul Saga, stating that it builds upon what captured players’ hearts when they first stepped foot into Azeroth. She emphasized that this is a new adventure for both veteran players and newcomers alike.
John Hight, general manager of Warcraft, described The War Within, Midnight, and The Last Titan as ambitious creative endeavors. Each expansion will feature standalone narratives that contribute to an overarching story arc. Hight also assured players that quality-of-life updates, a staple since the Dragonflight expansion, will continue in The War Within.
Mike Ybarra, president of Blizzard Entertainment, commended the passion and vision of the World of Warcraft teams as they embark on this new era. He believes that The Worldsoul Saga is a momentous occasion for anyone with memories of the legendary universe to celebrate, rediscover, and return home to Azeroth.
The War Within begins with an ancient civilization rising to power beneath the planet’s surface. Both Alliance and Horde heroes are bombarded with visions, some filled with light while others depict a darker fate.
World of Warcraft: The War Within will introduce several exciting features. Players can expect new zones, dungeons, raids, and more as they journey to a new level cap of 80. The Isle of Dorn, located off the western shores of Kalimdor, will serve as a new hub for both factions. Players will explore the lava-filled forge of The Ringing Deeps, the lush Hallowfall, and the pinnacle of Nerubian society, Azj-Kahet.
Additionally, a new playable Allied Race called the Earthen will be introduced. These Titan-forged beings have made Khaz Algar their home and come with their own unique civilization and culture. Hero Talents, a new level of class specialization customization, will allow players to further expand their Warcraft fantasy by adopting well-known archetypes from the Warcraft universe.
The expansion will also feature Delves, bite-sized adventures that seamlessly integrate into the world and scale to accommodate 1-5 players. Furthermore, the introduction of Warbands will provide a quality-of-life improvement for players with multiple characters, allowing them to share banks, reputations, transmogs, and more.
Pre-purchase options for World of Warcraft: The War Within are now available on the Battle.net shop. The Base Edition is priced at $49.99 USD and includes access to the expansion as well as World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. It also offers an enhanced level 70 character boost and 500 Trader’s Tender.
