During his keynote address, Jung-Bae Lee, President and Head of Memory Business at Samsung Electronics, discussed how the company plans to overcome challenges in the hyperscale era through innovations in transistor structures and materials. Samsung is working on new 3D structures for sub-10-nanometer DRAM, enabling larger single-chip capacities exceeding 100 gigabits. The company is also developing breakthroughs in NAND flash technology to introduce 1,000-layer vertical NAND.
Samsung introduced its next-generation HBM3E DRAM, Shinebolt, which offers high performance for cloud systems and AI applications. The HBM3E boasts impressive transfer rates of over 1.2 terabytes-per-second and optimized thermal characteristics. Samsung also highlighted other products like the 32Gb DDR5 DRAM, 32Gbps GDDR7, and petabyte-scale PBSSD.
In line with the growing demand for AI technologies, Samsung showcased memory solutions for edge devices that support high-performance, low-power, and small form factors. The company also presented automotive memory solutions, including the Detachable AutoSSD, which allows data access from a single SSD to multiple System on Chips.
