  • Exciting response from gamers
  • Open to feedback and addressing concerns
  • Demo extended for more playtime and co-op experience

Exciting Times with RoadCraft’s Demo!

Hey there, gamers! We’ve been on cloud nine since launching the RoadCraft demo last week. Seriously, the response has been nothing short of amazing! Thousands of you jumped in, and together, you’ve covered a whopping 2 billion kilometers in-game. That’s a lot of virtual miles! We designed this demo to give you a taste of what’s to come, but trust us, there’s so much more in store.

Right now, our focus is on soaking up your feedback. We want to address some of your concerns before the full game drops on May 20th. So, let’s dive into the most talked-about topics!

Fuel Consumption: The Elephant in the Room

First up, let’s chat about fuel consumption. We know it’s a big deal in games like SnowRunner and Expeditions. But here’s the scoop: RoadCraft is a brand-new venture for us in the simulation world, built on a fresh iteration of our engine with a different set of technical specs. So, while fuel management might be a staple in our past titles, it’s not the main focus this time around.

Initially, we did try to implement a fuel system, but it felt more tedious than fun. We want to keep the gameplay engaging, so we’re considering introducing fuel consumption in a new game mode down the line. Your feedback has definitely sparked some ideas!

Crane Controls: We Hear You

Next, let’s tackle the crane controls. We totally get that many of you found them frustrating. Our intention was to allow players to manage cranes and vehicles simultaneously for smoother multitasking. But hey, we’re all about making your experience better, so we’re exploring an alternative control scheme to give you more options. Stay tuned!

Performance Issues: We’re On It!

Now, onto performance. We’ve heard from players with AMD Graphics Cards who struggled to get the game running smoothly, and we’re truly sorry about that. We’re actively working on optimizations to ensure that when the final version launches, it runs like a dream. The demo was just a sneak peek, and we’re committed to making sure the full release shines.

Vehicle Damage and Gearbox: What’s the Deal?

A common question we’ve seen is about vehicle damage and the manual gearbox. Here’s the thing: our vehicles are designed differently in RoadCraft compared to SnowRunner. From the get-go, we decided to focus on the new tech, which meant leaving out damage mechanics. It was either go without or not make the game at all, and we chose the former. So, for now, you won’t see vehicle damage or a manual gearbox in RoadCraft.

Immersive Features: We’re Working on It!

Some of you have also mentioned missing immersive features like engine on/off switches, headlights, and even a 3D model for the driver. We hear you! Right now, we’re concentrating on the core aspects of rebuilding gameplay. However, we’re committed to integrating some of these features in the near future to enhance your experience.

Demo Extension: Your Chance to Play!

Finally, we want to make sure you get the most out of the demo before the full release. Your feedback is crucial in shaping the game, so we’ve decided to extend the demo beyond Steam Next Fest. You can still hop in this week if you haven’t tried it yet! And don’t forget, it’s fully co-op for up to four players, so grab your friends for an even richer experience.

Thanks for being a part of the RoadCraft journey! We can’t wait to hear more of your thoughts as we gear up for the big launch. Happy gaming!
