A Month of Monster Hunts
It’s hard to believe it’s already been a month since Monster Hunter Wilds roared onto PC and modern consoles! A massive shoutout to all the hunters out there—your support has been nothing short of incredible. Whether you’re a seasoned pro with countless hunts under your belt or a newbie just getting your feet wet, we hope you’ve been diving deep into the game, racking up those hours in High Rank, and enjoying every moment.
Today, we’re thrilled to pull back the curtain on what’s next for Monster Hunter Wilds: the first-ever Free Title Update!
Meet the Dazzling Mizutsune
Get ready to face the graceful yet deadly Leviathan Mizutsune! This returning monster glides through the water like it’s dancing, unleashing debilitating bubbles that can catch even the most seasoned hunters off guard. If you’re eager to take on Mizutsune, gear up and head to the Scarlet Forest Base Camp. Just make sure you’re at Hunter Rank (HR) 21 or above. And don’t forget, defeating Mizutsune will reward you with some stylish new armor sets for both your hunter and Palico. Plus, keep an eye out for an eight-star Tempered Mizutsune that will be lurking around!
A New Challenge Awaits: Arch-tempered Rey DAU
If you thought Tempered monsters were tough, just wait until you meet the Arch-tempered Rey Dau. This beast will be making its debut in an Event Quest on Tuesday, April 30, and you’ll need to be at HR 50 or above to take it on. Are you ready to test your skills against this formidable foe? Hunt down Arch-tempered Rey Dau, and you’ll unlock new Rey Dau γ (gamma) and Felyne Rey Dau γ (gamma) armor sets. So, polish up your gear and sharpen those skills—this challenge is not for the faint of heart!
Zoh Shia Returns
The fearsome Zoh Shia is back, and this time it’s here to stay! Previously, you could only face this monster once during the story, but with Free Title Update 1, you can now take on Zoh Shia repeatedly. After the update drops on April 4, a new mission will be available for hunters at HR 50 and above. Ready for some high-stakes action? Complete the mission, and you’ll unlock the Zoh Shia quest. Plus, you might even catch Zoh Shia showing up during the Wyvern’s Wakening in the Ruins of Wyveria. And yes, those materials you gather will help you forge some brand-new High Rank gear for both your hunter and Palico!
Introducing the Grand Hub
Say hello to the Grand Hub, your new social space for all things hunting! This vibrant locale is where hunters can gather, chat, and participate in unique activities. Historically, the Grand Hub has been a place of worship for the people of Suja. Keep your ears open at night—you might just catch the Diva serenading the night sky.
But that’s not all! You can also roll barrel bombs in the new Barrel Bowling mini-game. Compete for high scores and snag useful items and pendants for your hunts. Want to grab a bite? The Felynes are ready to whip up some delicious meals for you. To unlock the Grand Hub, just chat with Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord, at Hunter Rank 16 and above.
Race Against Time in the Arena
The return of Arena Quests means it’s time to put your speed to the test! In these quests, you and a partner will race against the clock using predetermined equipment. Curious how your hunt times stack up? Check out the world rankings at the Expedition Record Board and see if you’ve got what it takes to be the fastest hunter out there!
Challenge Yourself with Special Quests
Get ready for some exciting limited-time Event Quests! In these quests, you can earn pendants as rewards, and while everyone gets a pendant, you can snag special ones based on your time and world ranking. Challenge Quests will have you using predetermined equipment with a buddy, while Free Challenge Quests open the door for up to four players with no gear restrictions. And yes, you can team up with Support Hunters too!
Alma’s New Look
Want to switch things up for Alma? You’ll soon have the option to change her outfit in the camp’s Appearance Menu. Complete certain side missions, and you can even change her glasses! Plus, a free outfit will be available for Alma, so don’t miss out on that!
Downloadable Content Galore
Excited for some new looks? A fresh outfit for Alma and classic Monster Hunter gestures will be available as free downloadable content at the Playstation Store once the Free Title Update 1 goes live. Don’t forget about the paid Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, which will also be available for download, either through the Premium Deluxe Edition or as a separate purchase.
Join the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance
Mark your calendars! From April 23 to May 7, the Grand Hub will transform for the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance. During this seasonal event, the decor and food will change, and you’ll have the chance to snag limited equipment, gestures, and pop-up camp decorations.
That’s a wrap on the major content additions for this first Free Title Update! Alongside all this exciting new content, expect some fixes and adjustments to enhance your hunting experience. And stay tuned—another update is on the horizon for May, featuring a collaboration with another Capcom game and even more features.
Free Title Update 2 is set to arrive this summer, so keep your eyes peeled for more details. Until then, happy hunting!
