GIGABYTE introduces Powerful Servers for Cloud Computing and Big Data, Empowered by AMD EPYC Processors

GIGABYTE's new R-series servers, the R183-ZK0 and R283-ZK0, offer enhanced performance and reliability for cloud services and data-intensive applications with support for AMD EPYC processors and a unique "zigzag" memory slot layout.

They also offer flexibility in terms of processor and memory options, making them a versatile choice for various computing needs.


Gigabyte’s new R-series servers, the R183-ZK0 and R283-ZK0, offer enhanced performance and reliability for cloud services and data-intensive applications. These servers support AMD EPYC processors and are the first in the market to have one node with two CPUs that support 48 memory DIMMs.

The R183-ZK0-LAJ1 is a 1U server that utilizes direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) technology to maximize performance and energy efficiency. It supports AMD’s latest and upcoming EPYC processors and can efficiently process large data sets or host multiple virtual machines.

On the other hand, the R283-ZK0-AAL1 is a 2U server that uses air cooling and fits into traditional data center infrastructures. It has a powerful fan solution to ensure all components achieve peak performance. It also offers ample storage options and supports greater networking devices.

Both servers have a “zigzag” memory slot layout, allowing for highly scalable memory capacity and performance. This enables users to run more virtual machines simultaneously or perform in-memory processing of large datasets for big data analytics.
