USound and Luxshare-ICT have released the Gemini 2.0 UAM-C1102 dual speaker audio module, a compact and versatile solution that sets a new standard for TWS and IEMs with its exceptional audio performance and successful collaboration between the two companies.

  • Sets a new standard for TWS and IEMs with unparalleled audio performance
  • Compact size allows for easy integration into miniaturized devices
  • Collaboration between USound and Luxshare-ICT enables the use of a hybrid solution for Hi-Res audio-oriented headsets

USound, a leading provider of MEMS speakers, has announced the release of a new dual speaker audio module in collaboration with Luxshare-ICT, a renowned global designer and manufacturer. This collaboration was first announced in 2022, with the goal of developing an audio solution that meets the requirements of true wireless earphones (TWS). Now, the development is complete and the Gemini 2.0 UAM-C1102 dual speaker audio module is available for purchase.

According to Ferruccio Bottoni, CEO of USound, the Gemini 2.0 audio module sets a new standard for TWS and IEMs (in-ear monitors). It offers unparalleled audio performance in an ultra-compact form, thanks to the successful collaboration with Luxshare-ICT. USound is excited to see their innovative audio components being used in the production of cutting-edge consumer electronics products like TWS earphones and advanced IEMs.

Ronald Yuan, Director of R&D at Luxshare-ICT, highlights the benefits of their cooperation with USound. The partnership has enabled Luxshare-ICT to design and manufacture Hi-Res audio-oriented headsets using a hybrid solution. The second-generation co-axial driver in Gemini 2.0 is more compact and supports a physical crossover, which significantly improves the IMD (Intermodulation Distortion) in TWS headset applications. Luxshare-ICT is committed to delivering premium sound solutions to end customers through their partnership with USound.

The Gemini 2.0 audio module combines Luxshare’s electrodynamic woofer with USound’s Conamara MEMS tweeter. This combination allows Gemini 2.0 to perform exceptionally well above 20 kHz, exceeding the strict requirements of TWS and IEMs manufacturers. Luxshare’s woofer enhances compliance, improving the sound pressure level (SPL) in high-leak scenarios. Meanwhile, the Conamara MEMS tweeter delivers exceptional audio clarity and high-frequency extension.

One of the standout features of Gemini 2.0 is its compact size, making it easy to integrate into miniaturized devices like wireless earbuds. The adjustable crossover gives customers the flexibility to achieve their desired audio experience. Additionally, Gemini 2.0 excels in high-leak scenarios, making it an ideal solution for active noise cancelling (ANC) earphones.

With the release of the Gemini 2.0 UAM-C1102 dual speaker audio module, USound and Luxshare-ICT have demonstrated their commitment to pushing the boundaries of audio technology. This collaboration has resulted in a product that offers exceptional performance and versatility, catering to the needs of TWS and IEMs manufacturers. As the demand for high-quality audio experiences continues to grow, the Gemini 2.0 audio module is poised to make a significant impact in the consumer electronics market.

Technology Explained

ANC: Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is a technology that is used to reduce unwanted background noise in a variety of applications. It works by using microphones to detect the ambient noise and then producing an inverted sound wave to cancel it out. This technology is used in many computer applications, such as headphones, speakers, and sound cards. It is also used in noise-cancelling headphones, which are designed to reduce the amount of background noise that reaches the user's ears. ANC is also used in soundproofing applications, such as recording studios and soundproofed rooms. By reducing the amount of background noise, ANC allows for clearer sound recordings and improved sound quality.

TWS: TWS stands for "True Wireless Stereo." It refers to wireless audio technology that enables two separate earbuds or speakers to connect to a device, usually a smartphone or other audio source, without the need for any physical cables between them. TWS devices can provide a stereo audio experience without the constraints of wires, offering greater freedom of movement.
