Additionally, Johnson & Johnson MedTech is exploring how NVIDIA IGX with Holoscan could expedite the development of AI for Polyphonic, its digital ecosystem for surgery.

Medtronic, a healthcare technology provider, is leveraging NVIDIA IGX with NVIDIA Holoscan for its GI Genius intelligent endoscopy module. This module is the first FDA-cleared, AI-assisted colonoscopy tool designed to help physicians detect polyps that can lead to colorectal cancer. Raj Thomas, President of Endoscopy at Medtronic, expressed how the NVIDIA IGX with Holoscan platform has significantly accelerated their AI innovation in endoscopy. He believes that by leveraging NVIDIA’s advanced technology, they can focus on developing software applications that enhance patient outcomes and provide greater support to physicians.

Moon Surgical, a robotic surgery company, is using IGX with Holoscan to power its Maestro System. This state-of-the-art surgical robotics system assists surgeons with precision and control during minimally invasive procedures. Anne Osdoit, CEO of Moon Surgical, mentioned that NVIDIA’s IGX platform with Holoscan accelerated the development of their Maestro System and enhanced its capabilities. She stated that their collaboration with NVIDIA allowed them to get their intelligent robotic assistant into the hands of surgeons sooner, enabling valuable feedback on their path to commercialization.

The NVIDIA IGX platform also significantly improves functional safety and high-bandwidth sensor processing, transforming factory automation and robotic collaboration with AI. ADLINK, an industrial-grade edge AI solutions provider, is utilizing NVIDIA IGX to deliver proactive safety capabilities that ensure more efficient human and robot collaboration. Stephen Huang, President and COO at ADLINK, emphasized their partnership with NVIDIA in driving precision, safety, and Latency improvements to optimize manufacturing operations.

NVIDIA IGX is not only revolutionizing industries on Earth but also facilitating scientific research in exploring extraterrestrial worlds with AI. The SETI Institute, a nonprofit research organization, is leveraging NVIDIA IGX Orin to power radio astronomy capabilities for its Hat Creek Radio Observatory. Their goal is to detect technologically capable extraterrestrial life. Andrew Siemion, Bernard M. Oliver Chair at SETI Institute, explained that the IGX Orin platform’s advanced capabilities, combined with the Holoscan sensor-processing platform, enable transformational capabilities in radio astronomy. They can now process more bandwidth from more antennas to detect weaker and rarer astrophysical phenomena, thanks to the exceptional computational performance of the IGX platform.

In conclusion, NVIDIA’s latest advancements in the IGX platform, along with the availability of NVIDIA AI Enterprise-IGX and NVIDIA Holoscan, are set to revolutionize edge AI computing across various industries. The combination of powerful software, real-time performance, and enterprise-grade support will enable solution providers to develop and deploy AI solutions faster and more efficiently at the industrial edge.
