HARMAN, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, has started construction on a new manufacturing facility in Thailand. The facility, located near Bangkok in Laem Chabang, will be approximately 47,000 sqm in size and strategically positioned within Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor. While the facility will support various automotive business units, its primary focus will be on developing products for HARMAN’s automotive division. The company is known for delivering connected vehicle products that incorporate technology such as Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence. The new facility will allow HARMAN to scale these solutions and deliver high-quality in-cabin experiences for consumers. The ceremony was attended by HARMAN Automotive President Christian Sobottka and Thailand Minister of Industry Pimphattra Wichaikul, among others. Sobottka highlighted the benefits of expanding manufacturing in Thailand, including access to a talented workforce and close proximity to OEM partners. The investment aligns with Thailand’s economic development strategy, which aims to foster technological advancement and establish a robust next-generation automotive supply chain. The facility is expected to be completed in Q4 of 2025, with hiring for select roles beginning this fall.
