Sennheiser's MOMENTUM Sport earbuds feature integrated sensors, exceptional sound quality, and durability for an enhanced workout experience.
- Integration of heart rate and body temperature sensors for real-time feedback
- Intuitive touch controls for easy use during workouts
- Compatibility with popular sport devices and apps for expert-tier performance tracking
Sennheiser, a brand in the audio industry, has just launched their latest offering for athletes and sports enthusiasts—the MOMENTUM Sport earbuds. These earbuds are not your ordinary exercise accessory; they are designed to take your workout experience to new heights with their integrated sensors and exceptional sound quality.
According to David Holm, Sennheiser Sports Product Manager, the development of MOMENTUM Sport took over three years to perfect. The goal was to create the ultimate sports earbuds that combine fitness technology with superb sound. And it seems like they have succeeded.
One of the standout features of MOMENTUM Sport is its integration of a photoplethysmography (PPG) heart rate sensor and a body temperature sensor. These sensors provide critical data that can be utilized by popular fitness apps and devices. By tapping into real-time feedback, athletes can optimize their workouts and achieve better results.
The location of the earbuds in the inner ear allows for consistent feedback, even during intense physical activity. Plus, the in-ear temperature readings are more accurate than wrist-skin measurements, enabling wearers to closely monitor their body temperature and avoid heat-related fatigue.
In terms of usability, MOMENTUM Sport offers intuitive controls through touch gestures. With just a double-tap on the cheek, users can pause a track, even if they are wearing gloves or in challenging weather conditions.
Furthermore, MOMENTUM Sport seamlessly integrates with popular sport devices and apps such as Apple Watch/Health, Garmin Watch/Connect, Strava, and Peloton. Users can also access Polar’s elite sensing capabilities and data analytics ecosystem through the Polar Flow training app. This allows for expert-tier performance tracking, training analytics, smart coaching, and voice guidance.
Of course, Sennheiser’s expertise in acoustics is evident in MOMENTUM Sport. The 10 mm transducer delivers vivid sound and impressive bass, while the acoustic relief channel minimizes distractions caused by footstep noise, breathing, and other body-borne sounds. The semi-open design also provides natural environmental awareness, and wearers can adjust the Transparency mode, Anti-wind mode, and Adaptive Noise Cancelling mode to suit their surroundings.
MOMENTUM Sport is not just built for performance; it is also designed for durability. With an IP55 sweat and water resistance rating, a shock-proof chassis, and clog-resistant ear tips, these earbuds can withstand any workout, indoors or outdoors. The package includes interchangeable ear fins and ear tips for a secure and comfortable fit, even during prolonged training sessions.
The earbuds come with a robust carrying case that can store up to three additional earbud recharges. This extends the playback time from 6 hours to a total of 24 hours. And if you’re in a hurry, just a quick 10-minute charge will give you 45 minutes of playback on the go.
MOMENTUM Sport is available for purchase on sennheiser-hearing.com and selected Sennheiser retailers starting April 9, 2024. It comes in three stylish colorways—Polar Black, Burned Olive, and Metallic Graphite—and has a suggested retail price of $329.95 USD / $449.95 CAD. So, if you’re looking to take your fitness lifestyle to the next level, these earbuds might just be the perfect companion for you.
