Sony has just launched its latest additions to the G Series CFexpress Type B Memory Card lineup – the CEB-G480T and CEB-G240T. These cards offer creators a reliable and stable option for their operations, with large capacities and high speeds.
The CEB-G480T boasts impressive read and write speeds, reaching up to 1850 MB/s and 1750 MB/s respectively. Meanwhile, the CEB-G240T offers a max read speed of 1850 MB/s and a max write speed of 1600 MB/s. These cards are specifically designed for professional photographers, videographers, and enthusiasts who want to enhance their workflows with fast speeds and exceptional reliability. They are particularly well-suited for use with high-resolution cameras.
To facilitate a seamless workflow, both cards can be easily transferred to a PC using the CFexpress Type B card reader MRW-G1 (sold separately). This allows for quick handling of large high-resolution photos and high-bitrate videos.
In addition to their impressive performance, the CEB-G480T and CEB-G240T come with scan and rescue software applications that provide peace of mind to users. For instance, when used with the MRW-G1 card reader, Sony’s Media Scan Utility automatically scans the CFexpress Type B memory card, keeping users informed about its condition and storage limit. Moreover, Sony offers a downloadable Memory Card File Rescue for its memory card customers, allowing them to recover accidentally deleted files in commonly used formats.
These new cards are not only fast and reliable but also incredibly tough and durable. The CEB-G480T and CEB-G240T offer 5 times greater drop strength and 3 times greater bendability compared to previous models. They can withstand extreme temperatures, X-rays, electrostatic forces, and intensive UV sunlight without any issues.
Measuring at 29.6mm x 38.5mm x 3.8mm and weighing approximately 10g, the CEB-G480T and CEB-G240T are compact and lightweight.
The CEB-G480T will be priced at £340, while the CEB-G240T will be available for £220. Both cards are set to hit the market in early March 2024.
