CMF, a subsidiary of Nothing, has just launched its latest products: Buds and Neckband Pro. In under a year, CMF by Nothing has shattered the notion that great design and high-quality products are exclusive to the premium market. With its 2024 lineup, CMF introduces the Neckband Pro, the first 50 dB Hybrid ANC device in its category, and the Buds, which boast best-in-class ANC across the price range.

Akis Evangelidis, Co-founder of Nothing, expressed his excitement about the launch, stating, “Last September, we launched our sub-brand, CMF by Nothing, to bring great design to a wider audience and deliver an uncompromised user experience in a segment that has often been overlooked. The response to our first-generation products has been phenomenal, quickly becoming bestsellers. Today, we are thrilled to introduce Buds and Neckband Pro, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Let’s dive into the details of these impressive products:

Buds – Setting the Standard for ANC

When it comes to blocking out unwanted noise, Buds reign supreme within their price range. With a depth of 42 dB and a bandwidth of up to 2900 Hz, they provide best-in-class active noise cancellation. But for those moments when you need to be aware of your surroundings, simply activate Transparency Mode. To ensure crystal-clear calls, Buds are equipped with four HD microphones that work alongside Clear Voice Technology and an advanced wind noise reduction algorithm.

Featuring a 12.4 mm Bio-fibre Driver, Buds deliver an immersive soundscape that covers deep bass, balanced mid-range notes, and ethereal treble. Enhanced with Ultra Bass Technology 2.0 and digitally optimized using Dirac Opteo patented correction technology, these earbuds offer five EQ settings tailored to different music styles.

With a single charge, users can enjoy up to 8 hours of uninterrupted listening, and by utilizing the charging case, playback time can be extended to 35.5 hours. A quick ten-minute charge provides an impressive 6.5 hours of usage. These impressive numbers are made possible by the large 45 mAh battery in each bud and a 460 mAh battery in the case.

Neckband Pro – Unleashing the Power of Hybrid ANC

Neckband Pro takes active noise cancellation to new heights with its advanced chipset and five HD microphones, delivering top-notch noise cancellation of up to 50 dB. The device also features Environment Adaptive ANC, which automatically adjusts to ambient noise with three intensity settings for an optimized listening experience. Crystal-clear calls are ensured through an AI noise cancellation algorithm that has been tested with over 30 million sound samples. And when you need to let the outside world in, simply activate Transparency Mode.

Designed with fitness enthusiasts in mind, Neckband Pro features a 3-in-1 Smart Dial that allows for easy volume control, track navigation, and ANC adjustment with a simple spin or press. With an IP55 water, sweat, and dust resistance rating, these earbuds are perfect for both indoor and outdoor workouts.

Equipped with a 13.6 mm composite diaphragm driver and a 0.27cc back chamber, Neckband Pro delivers deep bass without compromising on sound quality. The Ultra Bass Technology 2.0, complete with five adjustable levels in the Nothing X app, enhances the bass effect by detecting music signals in real-time. Additionally, the flagship processor creates a Spatial Audio Effect that brings music, movies, and games to life.

With a massive 220 mAh battery that offers exceptional performance while conserving energy, Neckband Pro provides up to 37 hours of continuous playback. Alternatively, a quick 10-minute charge will provide 18 hours of usage with ANC turned off.

Technology Explained

ANC: Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is a technology that is used to reduce unwanted background noise in a variety of applications. It works by using microphones to detect the ambient noise and then producing an inverted sound wave to cancel it out. This technology is used in many computer applications, such as headphones, speakers, and sound cards. It is also used in noise-cancelling headphones, which are designed to reduce the amount of background noise that reaches the user's ears. ANC is also used in soundproofing applications, such as recording studios and soundproofed rooms. By reducing the amount of background noise, ANC allows for clearer sound recordings and improved sound quality.
