Samsung Electronics is making waves at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2024 in Barcelona with its showcase of SmartThings for Business. The exhibition highlights the advancements that the internet-of-things (IoT) platform will bring to Samsung’s B2B displays, as well as the company’s commitment to providing connected and easy-to-control digital signage across various industries.

SW Yong, President and Head of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the importance of operational efficiency in the commercial display sector. He stated, “Samsung digital signage is leveraging SmartThings to deliver next-gen connectivity and features to organizations of all sizes.” The expansion of the SmartThings ecosystem aims to enhance customer and partner experiences across a wide range of industries.

The exhibition demonstrates how SmartThings enables business owners to connect and control their smart devices through digital signage. By incorporating SmartThings connectivity into commercial display products like Smart Signage and Hotel TVs, users can enjoy the convenience of hyper-connectivity in their business environments. This includes not only Samsung smart devices but also other devices that support the latest IoT specifications, such as Matter and the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA).

Samsung’s application of SmartThings to various business environments contributes to more efficient space and energy management by transforming workplaces into interconnected smart spaces. These connectivity improvements benefit businesses of all sizes, from small and mid-sized enterprises to larger corporations. Visitors to Samsung’s booth at ISE 2024 can experience examples of smart spaces, including a smart store, smart office, and smart hotel.

One of the highlights of the event is the introduction of Samsung’s Transparent MICRO LED in Europe. This technology, previously launched at CES 2024, sets a new standard in the commercial display market with its exceptional transmittance and clarity. The transparent MICRO LED features an extremely small chip and a precision manufacturing process that eliminates seams and light refraction. It can be customized to any size or ratio, offering endless possibilities for retail and exhibition spaces. The display can simultaneously showcase important information and provide a view of actual products, creating a unique ambiance through its transparent surface.

Samsung’s leadership in LED display technology is further demonstrated by its unrivaled craftsmanship and ultra-fine pixel pitch. Since the introduction of The Wall in 2018, a modular commercial display featuring MICRO LED technology, Samsung has been at the forefront of innovation in the field. The company continues to explore the limitless possibilities of state-of-the-art display technology.

In addition to SmartThings and Transparent MICRO LED, Samsung is also unveiling its first Google Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement (EDLA)-certified interactive display. The WAD series, powered by Android 13, offers a seamless and intuitive learning experience for teachers and students. Equipped with educational tools and access to numerous apps through Google Play, the interactive display provides a familiar user interface similar to a large tablet. The WAD series meets various safety and reliability requirements for educational environments, making it an ideal tool for schools located in high-humidity or rainy climates. With features like Device Management Solution (DMS) and Advanced Messaging, educators can remotely monitor and control classroom displays while effectively communicating important messages across campuses.

Samsung’s partnership with Cisco is another highlight of the event. The expanded collaboration aims to deliver enhanced collaboration experiences for hybrid workers. As part of this partnership, Samsung introduces its new 105-inch, 21:9 Smart Signage QPD-5K model that is compatible with Cisco Room Kit EQ, certified for Microsoft Teams. The QPD-5K model offers a natural video conferencing experience with its 5K resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio, catering to the needs of hybrid workspaces. It seamlessly integrates with Cisco’s video conferencing capabilities, creating an efficient meeting environment. The partnership between Samsung and Cisco aims to eliminate second-class experiences in hybrid workspaces and deliver immersive collaboration experiences to all participants, regardless of their location.

Overall, Samsung’s showcase at ISE 2024 demonstrates the company’s commitment to shaping the future of business connectivity. With SmartThings for Business, Transparent MICRO LED, Google-certified interactive displays, and partnerships with industry leaders like Cisco, Samsung is paving the way for more efficient and connected workplaces across various industries.
