In a move that highlights Intel Corporation’s commitment to the future of data centers and artificial intelligence (AI), the company has announced the appointment of Justin Hotard as the executive vice president and general manager of its Data Center and AI Group (DCAI). With over two decades of experience in driving transformation and growth in computing and data center businesses, Hotard brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.

Hotard has established himself as a leader in delivering scalable AI systems for the enterprise, making him an ideal fit for Intel’s strategic goals. As A member of Intel’s executive leadership team, he will report directly to CEO Pat Gelsinger, taking on the responsibility of overseeing Intel’s suite of data center products, including the renowned Intel Xeon processor family, graphics processing units (GPUs), and accelerators.

Additionally, he led Hewlett Packard Labs, the company’s central applied research group.

Prior to his time at HPE, Hotard held various leadership positions at NCR Small Business, Symbol Technologies, and Motorola Inc. His diverse background includes experience in corporate development and operating roles, further enhancing his ability to drive growth and innovation in the data center and AI space.

Hotard’s educational background is equally impressive, with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration from the prestigious MIT Sloan School of Management.

Hotard takes over the reins from Sandra Rivera, who recently assumed the role of chief executive officer of the Programmable Solutions Group, an Intel standalone business.
