TYAN, a subsidiary of MiTAC Computing Technology Corporation, has launched its latest server platforms and motherboards, which are based on the newly released 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, previously known as Emerald Rapids. The 5th Gen Intel Xeon processors boast impressive upgrades, including up to 64 cores, a larger shared cache, higher UPI and DDR5 memory speed, and PCIe 5.0 with 80 lanes. These enhancements result in improved compute power and faster memory performance within the same power envelope as the previous generation.
According to Eric Kuo, Vice President of Server Infrastructure Business Unit at MiTAC Computing Technology Corporation, the 5th Gen Intel Xeon processors offer improved performance and power efficiency, making them ideal for accelerating total cost of ownership (TCO) and operational efficiency. TYAN has leveraged the capabilities of these new processors to develop server solutions that can handle the demanding workloads of high-performance computing (HPC), data centers, and AI applications.
One of TYAN’s standout products is the Thunder HX FT65T-B5652, a rack-convertible pedestal 1S AI server designed for deskside HPC/GPGPU applications. This server supports up to four double-wide GPU cards and features a single 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor, 8 DIMM slots supporting DDR5-5600 memory, and multiple PCIe 5.0 x16 slots. It also includes hot-swappable drive bays and NVMe M.2 slots for storage flexibility.
TYAN also offers the Thunder HX FT65T-B7130, another deskside HPC platform that supports dual 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors. This platform is designed for balanced CPU/GPU computing architecture and features 16 DIMM slots with DDR5-5600 memory support, as well as various storage options.
For users looking for a mainstream 2U server form factor, TYAN presents three models tailored to different scenarios. The Thunder CX TD76-B5658 is a 2U 4-node high-density implementation designed for cloud service providers. It supports a single 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor and offers multiple expansion slots and storage options.
The Thunder HX TS75-/TS75A-B7132 is a 2U dual-socket server platform that supports up to 8 TB of memory. It is ideal for in-memory computing and virtualization applications and offers multiple PCIe 5.0 slots and storage drive options.
The Thunder SX TS70-/TS70A-B7136 is another 2U dual-socket server platform that features 16 DIMM slots with DDR5-5600 memory support. It offers dual onboard 10GbE, multiple PCIe 5.0 slots, and storage options similar to the TS75-/TS75A-B7132 family.
TYAN also caters to data centers with its standard 1U form factor servers. The Thunder CX GC79A-B7132 is a 1U 2S cloud server that supports up to 32 DIMM slots with DDR5-5600 memory. It offers high IOPs storage, various expansion slots, and internal boot drive installation options.
The Thunder CX GC68A-B7136 is a dual-socket server platform designed for intermediate server use cases. It features 16 DIMM slots with DDR5-5600 memory support, hot-swappable drive bays, expansion slots, and NVMe M.2 slots.
In addition to its server systems, TYAN also provides upgraded motherboard solutions based on the latest 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors. The Tempest HX S5652 is a compact single-socket motherboard designed for deploying multiple GPU cards, while the Tempest CX S7136 and Tempest HX S7130 are dual-socket solutions in rack-optimized and mainstream EEB form factors, respectively.
