- Versatile and multifunctional unit
- High-quality materials for durability and reliability
- Convenient drain port with Quick Disconnect Coupling
EK, the manufacturer of premium water-cooling gear, is once again stirring up the market with their latest product, the EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 – Acetal. This pump-reservoir-manifold combo unit is the perfect solution for custom water-cooling setups, offering versatility and top-notch performance.
Similar to its predecessor, the X6, the EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 – Acetal features a dedicated fill port, drain port with an optional Quick Disconnect Coupling (QDC), and a convenient window for monitoring coolant levels. While its aesthetics may differ from traditional distribution plates, this unit can function as a regular pump-reservoir combo, a manifold, or even a distribution plate.
The “X3” in the name signifies its ability to directly connect three components as a manifold, while “D5″ indicates the presence of a single D5 pump that efficiently circulates the liquid throughout the loop. Mounting options are plentiful, thanks to the M4 screw threads on the side opposite the ports and on the backside, along with the bracket featuring 120 mm fan mounting hole spacing.
With eight G1/4″ ports available, including two dedicated fill and drain ports, users have ample connectivity options. The included PWM-controlled D5 pump delivers powerful yet silent performance, ensuring reliability and exceptional cooling efficiency even with multiple blocks and radiators. This latest iteration of the D5 pump incorporates the G3 variant and features a SATA power connector, aligning with the industry trend of reducing the use of 4-pin Molex cables.
One standout feature of the EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 – Acetal is its drain port with QDC. This allows users to easily drain their systems directly from the case without requiring additional tools. The Quick Disconnect Coupling/Fitting simplifies the process, providing added convenience and enhancing the overall user experience.
Durability is a key focus forEKWB, as evidenced by the materials used in constructing this combo unit. The majority of the unit is made from durable Black POM acetal, complemented by a stainless steel plate that covers the front and features a see-through acrylic window. The pump is securely held in place by a black-anodized aluminum holder. Notably, the steel plate and aluminum holder do not come into contact with the coolant, eliminating any risk of corrosion resulting from metal mixing. The only metal components that touch the coolant are the nickel-plated brass G1/4” plugs, ensuring a reliable seal with high-quality O-rings.
In terms of technical details, the dimensions of the reservoir vary depending on whether the pump or QDC is attached. With the pump attached, the dimensions are 74 x 75 x 180 mm, while with the QDC attached, they expand to 115 x 75 x 180 mm. The reservoir can hold up to 120ml of coolant. The D5 pump boasts an electronically commuted spherical motor and operates at a rated voltage of 12 V DC. It consumes 23 W of power and offers a maximum pressure head of 3.9 m and a flow rate of 1500L/h. The maximum system temperature is 60°C.
Pre-orders for the EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 – Acetal are now available through the EK Webshop and partner reseller network. Shipping is expected to commence in early February 2024. The manufacturer-suggested retail price (MSRP) for this impressive combo unit is €329.90, VAT included.
EK continues to impress water-cooling enthusiasts with their innovative products, and the EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 – Acetal is no exception. With its exceptional performance, versatility, and sleek design, it is sure to be a hit among PC enthusiasts looking to optimize their water-cooling setups.

Technology Explained
PWM: Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is a type of technology used in the computer industry that allows for control over pulse and frequency. It works by modulating an output signal’s pulse width or duty cycle to vary the on and off times of the signal. This technology can be used to control and regulate different DC motor, lighting, and other devices. In the computer industry, PWM is often used to control the speed of CPU and GPU fan speeds for improved cooling. It is also used to control backlighting levels on devices such as keyboards or monitors. PWM is versatile, cost-effective, and efficient; as such, it is an important technology in the computer industry.
