EK introduces a new pump-reservoir combo unit that doubles as a manifold, offering an impressive array of G1/4" ports and the ability to directly connect up to six components, such as two CPUs, two GPUs, and two radiators, with a dedicated fill port, drain port, and window for monitoring the coolant level.
- 14 G1/4" ports, two of which serve as dedicated fill and drain ports
- Genuine D5 pump that is both powerful and silent
- Includes a drain port with a Quick Disconnect Coupling/Fitting (QDC) and tubing
EK, the water-cooling gear manufacturer, is introducing a new pump-reservoir combo unit that doubles as a manifold, offering an impressive array of G1/4″ ports. The EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X6 D5 – Acetal is designed to accommodate up to six water-cooling components, such as two CPUs, two GPUs, and two radiators. It also features a dedicated fill port, a drain port with an optional Quick Disconnect Coupling (QDC), and a convenient window for monitoring the coolant level.
The EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X6 D5 – Acetal is a versatile solution that can function as a traditional pump-reservoir combo, a manifold, or even a distribution plate, despite its unique aesthetic appeal that sets it apart from most distro plates. The “X6” in its name signifies its ability to directly connect six components as a manifold, while “D5″ indicates the presence of a single D5 pump responsible for circulating the liquid throughout the loop.
Mounting this combo unit is a breeze, thanks to the M4 screw threads on the side opposite the ports and on the backside. These threads offer numerous mounting options, further enhanced by the inclusion of a bracket with 120mm fan mounting hole spacing (105mm).
Impressively, the EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X6 D5 – Acetal boasts a staggering 14 G1/4″ ports, two of which serve as dedicated fill and drain ports.
The combo unit comes equipped with a genuine D5 pump that is both powerful and silent, thanks to its PWM-controlled design. EK aimed to create a product that delivers exceptional reliability and outstanding performance with multiple blocks and radiators while minimizing noise. The D5 pump has been updated to the latest G3 variant and features a SATA power connector, aligning with the industry trend of reducing the use of 4-pin Molex cables.
To facilitate easy system draining, the EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X6 D5 – Acetal includes a drain port with a Quick Disconnect Coupling/Fitting (QDC) and tubing. Users can effortlessly drain their system directly from the case without requiring additional tools. While the use of the QDC is optional, it offers several quality-of-life benefits.
The majority of this combo unit is constructed from durable Black POM acetal, complemented by a stainless steel plate that covers the front and features a sliver opening for the see-through acrylic window.
The pump is securely held in place by a black-anodized aluminum holder. Importantly, neither the steel plate nor the aluminum holder comes into contact with the coolant, eliminating the risk of corrosion resulting from metal mixing. The only metal components in contact with the coolant are the nickel-plated brass G1/4” plugs that seal the unused ports, ensuring a high-quality seal with O-rings.
In terms of technical specifications, the dimensions of the reservoir with the attached pump or QDC measure 75 x 115 x 235mm. The pump motor boasts an electronically commuted spherical design and operates at 12V DC, consuming 23W of power. It delivers a maximum pressure head of 3.9m and a maximum flow rate of 1500L/h. The pump can handle system temperatures up to 60°C and is constructed using materials such as stainless steel, PPS-GF40, EPDM O-rings, aluminum oxide, and hard coal. It features a SATA power connector and a 4-pin PWM FAN connector.
The operational regime of the pump involves a PWM duty cycle ranging from approximately 20% to 100%. By default, it runs at a 100% duty cycle when no PWM feedback signal is present.
The EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X6 D5 – Acetal is currently available for pre-order through the EK Webshop and partner reseller network. Shipping is expected to commence in late December 2023. The manufacturer-suggested retail price (MSRP), including VAT, is 379.90€.

Technology Explained
PWM: Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is a type of technology used in the computer industry that allows for control over pulse and frequency. It works by modulating an output signal’s pulse width or duty cycle to vary the on and off times of the signal. This technology can be used to control and regulate different DC motor, lighting, and other devices. In the computer industry, PWM is often used to control the speed of CPU and GPU fan speeds for improved cooling. It is also used to control backlighting levels on devices such as keyboards or monitors. PWM is versatile, cost-effective, and efficient; as such, it is an important technology in the computer industry.
