ASUS, a tech company, has officially announced its partnership with Intel Corporation in a signing ceremony that marks the handover of the Intel Next Unit of Computing (NUC) product lines. This collaboration will see ASUS take over the manufacturing and selling of Intel NUC 10th to 13th generation systems, as well as the development of future NUC systems.
For those unfamiliar with Intel NUC solutions, they are small-form-factor devices or compute elements that can be customized to suit various needs. They are particularly well-suited for business, edge computing, and gaming environments. With this partnership, ASUS aims to provide edge computing solutions that cater to the industry and businesses.
The transition from Intel to ASUS has been seamless, with ASUS kicking off its NUC business and accepting orders for NUC 10th to 13th generation systems starting from September 1. This new venture opens up exciting opportunities for ASUS and its customers. Jackie Hsu, ASUS SVP and co-Head of OP & AIoT business groups, expressed confidence in the collaboration, stating that it will enhance and accelerate their vision for the Mini PC. The addition of the Intel NUC product line to ASUS’ portfolio will expand their AI and IoT R&D capabilities, particularly in the industrial, commercial, and prosumer markets.
ASUS has not only acquired the hardware system designs but also the software from Intel, allowing them to further enhance their R&D capabilities, especially in software and cloud computing. This move will enable ASUS to provide comprehensive support in terms of R&D, logistics, and tech support for professional and AI programmers, governments, enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as edge computing and industrial applications.
Michelle Johnston Holthaus, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Client Computing Group at Intel, also expressed excitement about this collaboration. She believes that this signing ceremony signifies ASUS’ dedication to improving the lives of NUC customers and partners worldwide. Holthaus looks forward to witnessing the growth and success of NUC as part of the ASUS family.
Looking ahead, ASUS plans to continue developing NUC products and expand its channel network to meet the growing demand. These NUC solutions will adhere to industrial-grade standards and provide advanced cybersecurity features to support businesses of all kinds. ASUS envisions various use cases for NUC, including Asset & Operations Optimization, Human Wellness Monitoring, Logistics & Tracking, and Product Inspection, among others.
In line with ASUS’ commitment to sustainability, their NUC products will be energy-efficient and come with world-class green certificates. The company aims to build long-term business relationships by prioritizing customer satisfaction and co-winning principles. ASUS is dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition for NUC customers and providing them with exceptional service in the future.
