Intel’s “Meteor Lake” Core Ultra 7 CPU Launched: Boasting 16 Cores and 5.0 GHz Clock

Intel’s upcoming CPU series, Meteor Lake, has been making headlines with multiple leaks surfacing in the past week. One interesting development is Intel’s potential shift in naming convention for their mobile series, with the rumored name being “Core Ultra 100H.” This departure from the previously seen 1000H engineering samples suggests a fresh approach.

While Intel continues to test the remaining 1000H samples, a new CPU labeled as Core Ultra 1002H has been spotted. However, this is not a new processor but rather a preproduction sample that is likely to be marketed as the Core Ultra 165H. The specifications of this CPU include 6 P-Cores and 10 E-Cores, with two of the E-Cores located in the SoC die. The boost clock is expected to reach an impressive 5.0 GHz.

It’s worth noting that this CPU, despite its separate nomenclature, is likely a qualification sample and may not represent the final product name. Nevertheless, the Core Ultra 165H seems more fitting as a higher-tier SKU within the upcoming Core Ultra lineup.

In terms of performance, the Core Ultra 7 1002H (165H) has achieved a score of 2439 points in the single-core Geekbench V6 benchmark, making it the highest-scoring among all Meteor Lake CPUs seen so far. While there have been slightly better results in multithreaded performance, the difference is within an acceptable margin of error.

Intel is expected to officially announce its Meteor Lake CPU series at Innovation 2023 next week.
