Patch 1.22 introduces AMD FSR3, a new advanced temporal upscaling technology with Motion Fluid Frames and other graphic updates, now available on Steam for Forspoken players to experience improved performance.
- Compatible with Radeon RX 5000, NVIDIA RTX 20, and Intel Arc A7 GPUs
- Includes AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3
- New NativeAA quality mode option
AMD FSR3, the highly anticipated advanced temporal upscaling technology, has officially arrived in the latest update for Forspoken. Patch 1.22 introduces FSR3, which incorporates Motion Fluid Frames (Frame Generation technology), similar to DLSS3. This update brings enhanced graphics capabilities to the game, providing a significant performance boost.
According to the patch notes, FSR3’s Frame Generation feature is compatible with Radeon RX 5000, nVidia RTX 20, and Intel Arc A7 GPUs. While other GPU architectures will support the new upscaling components of FSR3, they will not include Frame Generation.
However, Square Enix has already identified a known issue with FSR3. Users may experience a reduction in framerate on monitors with a Refresh Rate of 240Hz or higher when both FSR3 FG and V-Sync are activated. To address this problem, it is recommended to disable V-Sync in such cases.
In addition to FSR3, the patch also includes other graphic updates. The game now supports AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3, which combines temporal upscaling and frame generation to deliver improved performance. A new NativeAA quality mode option has been added as well, providing high-quality anti-aliasing and sharpening without upscaling.
To access the new features, users can find Frame Generation settings in the Graphics section of the menu. It’s worth noting that the patch only applies to newly created save data.
The 30MB patch is now available on Steam, allowing players to take advantage of AMD FSR3 immediately. As there was no early access granted to the media, detailed coverage from them may not be available at this time. We encourage players to share their experiences with FSR3 in the comments section and let us know how it performs for you.
