Ubisoft is set to revolutionize the Assassin’s Creed franchise with the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR. This highly anticipated virtual reality adventure will be available exclusively for Meta Quest devices, including Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest Pro, starting November 16.
For the first time ever, players will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Assassin’s Creed from a first-person perspective. Taking on the roles of iconic characters Ezio Auditore, Connor, and Kassandra, gamers will be able to experience the thrill of parkour and free climbing across expansive open maps. With the use of real-world motions, players can engage in intense combat as they navigate through a captivating Assassin’s Creed storyline set across three separate eras.
In Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, players will also assume the role of an undercover hacker in the modern day. Working from within Abstergo, the notorious organization, players must thwart a plot that aims to manipulate people’s beliefs using ancient technology. Guided by Abstergo’s cybersecurity chief, Dominika Wilk (portrayed by the talented Morena Baccarin), players will delve into newly discovered memories from Renaissance Italy, the American Revolution, and Ancient Greece.
Each character in the game possesses a unique set of weapons, adding depth and variety to gameplay. For instance, Kassandra and Connor wield bows, while Ezio relies on a one-handed crossbow for long-range eliminations. Connor’s tomahawk serves as both a close-combat weapon and a formidable throwing tool. Additionally, players can utilize throwing knives, bombs, and the iconic Hidden Blades as they stealthily navigate their way through encounters with guards and other adversaries.
The three playable heroes possess the acrobatic expertise of master assassins, allowing players to explore freely in meticulously designed maps. Whether it’s scaling buildings, blending into crowds, or executing the iconic Leap of Faith, players will have ample opportunities to showcase their skills. Furthermore, interactions with both civilians and historical figures will add depth to the immersive experience, as their reactions will be influenced by player actions in the virtual reality world.
Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is a collaborative effort by several Ubisoft studios, including Ubisoft Red Storm, Ubisoft Düsseldorf, Ubisoft Reflections, Ubisoft Mumbai, Ubisoft Pune, Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Belgrade, and Ubisoft Berlin. This ambitious project promises to deliver a gaming experience exclusively for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest Pro users.
