MSI, a leading tech company, accidentally shared an unlisted video that has now been leaked. The video showcases MSI’s latest Intel 700 motherboard series and upcoming PC cases, but it also includes a slide revealing some details about Intel’s 14th Gen Core series.
According to the slide, there won’t be any major core count upgrades in Intel’s 14th Gen Core series. Only one of the upcoming K-series CPUs, the Core i7-14700k, will see a change in its core configuration. It will have 12 Efficient cores, an improvement over the Core i7-13700K’s 8 E-Cores.
MSI has also confirmed the configuration for the Core i9-14900k, which will use an 8P+16E setup. The same configuration applies to the Core i5-14600k with a 6P+8E setup. It’s worth noting that Intel is planning to launch only the K and KF-series next month, with non-K models coming early next year.
In terms of technology, the 14th Gen Core series will utilize Intel’s 7 process technology and offer higher DDR5 frequency support. On average, the new series is expected to be 3% faster than the current-gen series. The most significant improvement comes with the Core i7-14700K, which boasts up to 17% faster multi-threaded performance due to the additional cores.
Intel is set to officially announce the new series at Innovation 2023 in September. However, the leaked video has since been made private. We’ll have to wait for more information from Intel to get a complete picture of what the 14th Gen Core series has to offer.
