Yesterday’s State of Play event brought some exciting news for Playstation fans, as Sony launched the new Deep Earth Collection, a stunning lineup of accessories for the PS5. The collection features three new colors for the DualSense wireless controller and PS5 console covers, all boasting a sleek metallic finish. Say hello to the molten Volcanic Red, alluring Cobalt Blue, and sleek Sterling Silver.
Satoshi Aoyagi and Leo Cardoso from Sony’s design team took the stage to share more about the inspiration behind this vibrant collection. Aoyagi explained that they drew inspiration from the captivating hues found deep within our planet. By adding a metallic finish, they were able to elevate the colors and infuse them with a touch of sophistication.
Cardoso delved into the specifics of each color, describing Volcanic Red as a rich blazing red tone that is sure to make a statement. Cobalt Blue, on the other hand, offers a deep shade of blue with intriguing hints of purple. Lastly, Sterling Silver exudes a classic aesthetic with a subtle blue undertone.
Fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on these eye-catching accessories. Pre-orders for the Deep Earth Collection will begin on October 4, with Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue launching on November 3. Sterling Silver will follow suit on January 26. The DualSense controllers will be priced at $74.99 USD/¥9,980 (including tax)/€74.99/£64.99, while the PS5 console covers will retail for $59.99 USD/¥7,980 (including tax)/€59.99/£49.99.
