X's Artificial Intelligence tools, including the recently announced Aurora, allow users to create photorealistic images from text snippets without applying filters, but the function was removed shortly after its release.

  • The free version of Grok allows users to send up to ten messages every two hours and create up to three images per day

X continues to push the boundaries of its Artificial Intelligence tools, and recently, Elon Musk’s platform confirmed that it will be adding the ability to create images using AI to its portfolio. For a brief period, Grok users also had access to the Aurora tool, which allowed them to generate images from text snippets. It was an exciting experiment, but unfortunately, the function was removed just a few hours after it appeared.

According to various sources, Aurora focused on creating photorealistic images directly from the X interface. What set it apart from similar tools was that it didn’t seem to apply filters to the generated content, allowing users to create images featuring copyrighted characters from Disney, Nintendo, and even famous actors’ faces. However, it did apply filters to adult content, blocking explicit scenes while still enabling the creation of graphic images. In fact, some users were able to generate images of a bloodied Donald Trump.

Several X employees have confirmed the existence of Aurora, although details about its training process or whether it utilizes external platforms for the final image creation remain undisclosed. It appears that the model is still under active development, so adjustments may be made before the official release of the final version.

The announcement of Aurora comes after X made Grok available for free to its users, albeit with some limitations. Previously, the platform was only accessible to paid X subscribers. The free version allows users to send up to ten messages every two hours and create up to three images per day.

For now, although Aurora has been somewhat confirmed, it is no longer available. This suggests that it may require further updates and improvements before becoming accessible to all users once again.
