Firefox on Windows 11 will soon have Mica integration, allowing for a smoother experience within the operating system, but it is currently only available in the Nightly version and requires enabling hidden flags.
- Improved integration with Windows 11 operating system
- More seamless experience for Firefox users on Windows 11
- Easy to enable and try out in Firefox Nightly version
Firefox users on Windows 11 will soon receive some updates to the browser, bringing support for Mica integration. After undergoing testing, Firefox will join other browsers like Chrome in offering this feature, allowing for a more seamless experience within the Windows operating system.
Currently, Mica interface support is only available for Firefox Nightly, and users will need to modify hidden flags in the browser to enable it. However, those who activate it will find that the system functions as expected, with stable support expected to roll out to all users in the future.
Since it is still in the Firefox Nightly version, there may still be some improvements to be made. Certain parts of the browser have yet to fully integrate the new interface, which will likely be addressed in future updates.
To try out Mica integration, users can download the latest version of Firefox Nightly and access the “about:config” page. By enabling the options browser.theme.native-theme, widget.windows.mica, and browser.tabs.allow_transparent_browser, users can experience the new interface. A browser restart will be required to apply the changes.
It is important to note that the Mica effects are dependent on the background image applied in the system, so the experience may vary from system to system based on individual customization preferences.
