Elgato introduces two new hardware extensions, the XLR Dock and USB Hub, for their Stream Deck + controller, providing streamers and podcasters with a single device for managing audio needs and addressing limited USB ports.
- The XLR Dock and USB Hub provide a convenient and clutter-free solution for managing audio needs and connecting multiple devices.
- The XLR Dock's preamp and Clipguard technology offer high-quality audio with minimal distortion, making it a valuable tool for streamers and podcasters.
- The USB Hub addresses the common issue of limited USB ports on laptops, providing fast file transfers and freeing up a port for charging.
Elgato, a brand of Corsair, has launched two new hardware extensions for their Stream Deck + controller, aimed at streamers and podcasters. The XLR Dock is a mic interface that allows creators to manage all their audio needs from a single device. It conveniently fits behind the Stream Deck +, reducing desk clutter. The XLR Dock features a preamp for dynamic microphones, offering up to 75 dB of ultra-low-noise gain. It also provides 48 V phantom power for condenser mics and includes Elgato’s Clipguard technology to prevent distortion. The device is powered by a single USB cable and can be set up in seconds.
The USB Hub is designed to address the issue of limited USB ports, particularly on Laptops. With the USB Hub, creators can connect up to four devices, from peripherals to external drives, to their Stream Deck +. It also powers the laptop, freeing up a port that would typically be used for charging. The USB Hub offers fast file transfers at speeds up to 5 Gb/s via USB-C and includes a convenient SD card reader. Like the XLR Dock, the USB Hub can be easily hidden behind the Stream Deck +, keeping cables tidy and within reach.
Both the XLR Dock and USB Hub can be ordered today on Elgato’s webstore, with shipping expected to start next week. They will also be available at authorized retailers in CORSAIR’s global network starting August 25.
Jörg Gohlke, Senior Engineering Manager at Elgato, emphasized the importance of streamlining workflows and reducing the need for multiple devices. He highlighted how the XLR Dock and Stream Deck + combination not only improves workflows but also takes up less space. The XLR Dock allows creators to connect their high-end XLR microphones directly to the Stream Deck +, eliminating the need for a separate audio interface. The USB Hub, on the other hand, provides additional ports and power delivery, addressing the issue of limited USB ports.
Stream Deck + is a versatile device that combines audio mixing, workflow control, and live console capabilities. It can be customized to suit individual preferences and integrates with popular apps like OBS Studio and Photoshop. The device also unlocks Wave Link, a powerful digital mixer with effects like EQ and compression to enhance sound.
Overall, Elgato’s new hardware extensions offer creators the opportunity to streamline their workspace and enhance their audio setup with the Stream Deck + at the center.
